Rarely does success or failure result from one choice, or one lucky break, but rather the quality of your life is determined by the multitude of small choices that you make on a regular basis. To create a rich and meaningful life you need to honour your essential nature, know what motivates and challenges you and what your raw potential is. If you choose to develop your raw potential and share your gifts with others you find your true purpose. Who you are today is a result of the conscious and unconscious decisions you made about yourself up to now. Who you will be tomorrow is still undecided. Every time you act on a choice which empowers you, you reinforce the belief that you can have what you want, and your life begins to change. It's not what happens to you that determines how you feel and what you can do or have. It's the daily choices that you act upon. This book is a practical map for making every day choices which determine the quality of your life.

Choice Matters Is the Bible a pro-choice book? Do you fear road rage? Do casinos and lotteries help or hurt? Does gun ownership cause or prevent crime, violence and death? Who is the final arbiter of our suffering - others or we? Is it O.K. to say, "I'm sick and tired of war?" Can we place 40 million under-educated Americans as greeters at Walmart? Is there a statesman in the house - or senate? How do you answer your 8 year old daughter when she asks, "What is a 4 hour erection?" Who should pay for my granddaughters Christian education? Freedom means choice. Without choice there can be no real freedom. Hopefully, the facts and opinions expressed in this book will be a catalyst for much discussion and perhaps some change, along with a wider recognition that freedom must allow choice and, therefore, Choice Matters!

"Choice Matters is the healthcare sector's guide to understanding and delivering the brand of consumer-centered care that is an imperative for the Zocdoc age. Drawing on the authors' diverse backgrounds in medicine, business, and public policy, this practically-oriented resource offers an on-the-ground introduction for clinicians and managers to better understand the differences between healthcare and other consumer-driven markets, what factors are most important for consumers in seeking care providers, how consumers make decisions about healthcare, the system-wide effects of increased consumer choice in healthcare, [and] the important distinction between patients and consumers"--

Political Choice Matters investigates the extent to which class and religion influence party choice in contemporary democracies. Rather than the commonly-assumed process in which a weakening of social boundaries leads to declining social divisions in political preferences, this book's primary message is that the supply of choices by parties influences the extent of such divisions: hence, political choice matters. Combining overtime, cross-national data, and multi-level research designs the authors show how policy and programmatic positions adopted by parties provide voters with choice sets that accentuate or diminish the strength of political cleavages. The book gives central place to the positions of political parties on left-right, economically redistributive and morally conservative versus social liberal dimensions. Evidence on these positions is obtained primarily from the Comparative Manifesto Project, with a chapter dedicated to elaborating and validating the various implementations of this uniquely valuable source of evidence on party positions. The primary empirical focus includes case studies of 11 Western, Southern, and Central European societies as well as 'anglo-democracies' including Britain, USA, Canada, and Australia. These detailed analyses of election studies ranging in some cases from the post-war period until the early part of the 21st century are augmented by a pooled cross-national and overtime analysis of 15 Western democracies using a unique, combined dataset of 188 national surveys. The authors show that although there has been some overtime decline in the strength of association between social class and party choice, this is far smaller than the amount of change in the relationship occurring as a result of party movements on questions of inequality and redistribution. The strength of the religiosity cleavage is also influenced by changes in party positions on moral issues - changes that can be understood as a strategic response to a process of secularization that has weakened the electoral viability of parties deriving support from appeals to religious values.

Studies of the influence of class and religion on politics often point to their gradual decline as a result of social change. Backed up by extensive evidence from 11 case studies and a 15-country pooled analysis, the editors argue instead that the supply of choices by parties influences the extent of class divisions: political choice matters.

‘Indispensable’ Daniel Kahneman How do you get people to agree to donate their organs? What’s the trick to reading a wine list? What’s the perfect number of potential matches a dating site should offer? Every time we make a choice, our minds go through an elaborate process most of us never even notice. We’re influenced by subtle aspects of the way the choice is presented that often make the difference between a good decision and a bad one. To overcome the common faults in our decision-making and enable better choices in any situation involves conscious and intentional decision design. Transcending the familiar concepts of nudges and defaults, The Elements of Choice offers a comprehensive, systematic guide to creating effective choice architectures, the environments in which we make decisions. The designers of decisions need to consider all the elements involved in presenting a choice: how many options to offer, how to present those options, how to account for our natural cognitive shortcuts, and much more. These levers are unappreciated, yet they impact our reasoning every day. This book doesn’t simply analyse the mental fallacies that trip us up. It goes further to show us what good decision-making looks like – that it can be both moral and effective.
