Many preachers, have for centuries informed men about the blessings God has made available through His Son, Jesus. Rightly so. They however, have missed the most vital detail. Before the blessings came, there was an event. An event that changed the destiny of men, as we know it! The event wasn’t a glamorous show off, by the Supreme being of the Universe; Neither was it a grand-standing by the Most powerful Being, the mind cannot even conceive. It was a display of love. A love, confirmed by the sacrifice of the only true God, for His lost creation. A love, forged in pain, agony and despair. In torture, grief and gruesome death. The love of God, came to us free. But cost Him, His one and only Son. This is the story of the cross. The Power and Wisdom of God, for the salvation of all men. Christ, Crucified!

The Crucifixion of Jesus is a vital part of the Christian faith. Over the centuries, there have been claims which negate the general Christian belief that Jesus Christ was Crucified. The eminent death of Jesus leads to the issue of His resurrection, hence if there was no death by Crucifixion or any other form then the subject of Ressurection will not come to play. In this book, the subject of Crucifixion was the central theme for discussion which is the foundational issue to be dealt with.In modern moderated debates between Christian apologists and other debaters, the verse Heb 5: 7 comes up most times in the Q&A session as a verse which seems to claim the opposite of the Christian claim. In this book, we try to see what the Resurrection is and try to discuss the resurrection from the Heb 5: 7This book hopes to share more light on the text and leaves readers to make their conclusion. It also touches on other issues surrounding the Crucifixion and how the subject matter can be appreciated. I hope this book opens your mind and makes you form an informed opinion

Kelsey Graves' groundbreaking treatise, arguing against the existence of Jesus Christ with the citation of fifteen precedents with striking similarities, remains popular and controversial to this day. Published in 1875, Graves' thesis was among the most divisive of its time. Already rocked by the newly-published theory of evolutionary science, which directly contradicted the Biblical telling of man's creation, the Christian church found itself further assailed by skeptics who doubted the existence of Christ. Kelsey Graves authored the most comprehensive criticism of the time, compiling from existing chronicles this thesis: that the genesis of Christianity existed before Christ himself. The central notion put forth in this book is that there were a total of sixteen crucified individuals from a variety of different ancient belief systems, all of whom provided a model for Jesus Christ.

Christ Crucified written by Klaas Schilder and has been published by Sovereign Grace Publishers, this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2001-11 with Religion categories.

These superb works are without equal in modern literature. Schilder ''brings the reader into touch with the spiritual and temporal forces which converged during the Passion Week. He is careful to keep Christ central, and he blends in a masterful way this culmination of our Lord's earthly life with historical facts and psychological realities'' (Cyril Barber, The Minister's Library). Schilder was a noted Dutch scholar of the early twentieth century. The three volumes of this work were translated by Henry Zylstra. They first appeared in 1937. The three volumes cover three aspects of the suffering and death of the Lord Jesus Christ. They are entitled: Christ Crucified, Christ in His Suffering, and, Christ On Trial. In The Minister's Library, Cyril Barber states: ''Theologically accurate, abounds in suggestive insights, and provides exegetical illumination for a score of Easter sermons. It is a classic treatment on the passion of Christ. [It} deserves a place in every pastor's library. [The three volumes} cover the night of His betrayal to His condemnation . . . [it is] a learned, accurate treatment.'' That says a lot about this unique, very important work. It is simply indispensable to the understanding and feeling of the power of the passion of Christ. To put it into the words of the Apostle Paul, all should feel as he did, ''[Oh that I might] ''be found in Him . . . to know Him and the power of His resurrection, and the fellowship of His sufferings, having been conformed to His death, if somehow I may attain to a resurrection out of the dead'' (Philippians 3:9-11). Through the guidance and inspiration of God the Holy Spirit Schilder has captured the drama and the pathos of Christ's ordeal, and yet also passes on to the reader the triumph and the exultation of Christ as He completes His voluntary submission to the Father's will: ''Sacrifice and offering You did not desire, but You prepared a body for Me. You did not delight in burnt offering and sacrifices concerning sins. Then I said, Lo, I come in the heading of the Book it was written concerning Me, to do Your will, O God'' (Psalm 39:6-9; Heb. 10:5-7). No child of God is completely mature until he or she has gone to Gethsemane and followed the trail of Christ as He approached the hour when He must endure unspeakable humiliation, pain, and the suffering of momentary loss of the Father's presence with Him. It is no wonder that He sweat blood at the prospect, for He was not ignorant of what He must go through in order to provide salvation for His sheep: ''The Good Shepherd lays down His life for the sheep'' (John 10:11). No one will better draw you down to the depths of this drama, a scene which only one Person could have endured, than Schilder. You will not be the same after you have followed Christ through these stirring looks that Schilder gives you - you will be a better Christian, by far. This is a Best Set in Print. Schilder was a man of many gifts, without any doubt. Anyone who has read his writings, even some of them, will readily acknowledge that he possessed the ability to look at various theological questions in different ways and to express his ideas in sometimes eloquent ways which were often fresh and new. 560 pages, blue hard cover

Kersey Graves' groundbreaking treatise, arguing against the existence of Jesus Christ with the citation of fifteen precedents with striking similarities, remains popular and controversial to this day. Published in 1875, Graves' thesis was among the most divisive of its time. Already rocked by the newly-published theory of evolutionary science, which directly contradicted the Biblical telling of man's creation, the Christian church found itself further assailed by skeptics who doubted the very existence of Jesus Christ. Their birth dates, events in their lives, sentiments which they voiced, miracles which they performed, and of course the circumstances of their death bear great resemblance to the Jesus Christ of the Christian gospels. Thus, Christ as we know him was a heavily derivative product of millennia of religious thought, rather than a credible and distinct figure in his own right. Although not without flaws - Graves is patchy in citing the dates and publication details of his sources - The World's Sixteen Crucified Saviours is an effective summary and expansion of investigations which had ensued on the subject of God-men prophets offering salvation. Formerly a minister himself, Graves' disillusion with Christian doctrine led him to pursue free thought, wherein he promoted an atheistic view based upon gathered, credible evidence. The tone of this book is frequently impassioned. Although the subjects are scholarly and even obscure in places, the conviction and liveliness with which Graves approaches this subject serve to make passionate what might otherwise be difficult or arduous reading.

The Day The Revolution Began written by N. T. Wright and has been published by HarperCollins this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2016-10-11 with Religion categories.

The renowned scholar, Anglican bishop, and bestselling author widely considered to be the heir to C. S. Lewis contemplates the central event at the heart of the Christian faith—Jesus’ crucifixion—arguing that the Protestant Reformation did not go far enough in transforming our understanding of its meaning. In The Day the Revolution Began, N. T. Wright once again challenges commonly held Christian beliefs as he did in his acclaimed Surprised by Hope. Demonstrating the rigorous intellect and breathtaking knowledge that have long defined his work, Wright argues that Jesus’ death on the cross was not only to absolve us of our sins; it was actually the beginning of a revolution commissioning the Christian faithful to a new vocation—a royal priesthood responsible for restoring and reconciling all of God’s creation. Wright argues that Jesus’ crucifixion must be understood within the much larger story of God’s purposes to bring heaven and earth together. The Day the Revolution Began offers a grand picture of Jesus’ sacrifice and its full significance for the Christian faith, inspiring believers with a renewed sense of mission, purpose, and hope, and reminding them of the crucial role the Christian faith must play in protecting and shaping the future of the world.
