Faith No More written by Phil Zuckerman and has been published by Oxford University Press this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2015-06 with Religion categories.

During his 2009 inaugural speech, President Obama described the United States as a nation of "Christians and Muslims, Jews and Hindus--and nonbelievers." It was the first time an American president had acknowledged the existence of this rapidly growing segment of the population in such a public forum. And yet the reasons why more and more people are turning away from religion are still poorly understood. In Faith No More, Phil Zuckerman draws on in-depth interviews with people who have left religion to find out what's really behind the process of losing one's faith. According to a 2008 study, so many Americans claim no religion (15%, up from 8% in 1990) that this category now outranks every other religious group except Catholics and Baptists. Exploring the deeper stories within such survey data, Zuckerman shows that leaving one's faith is a highly personal, complex, and drawn-out process. And he finds that, rather than the cliché of the angry, nihilistic atheist, apostates are life-affirming, courageous, highly intelligent and inquisitive, and deeply moral. Zuckerman predicts that this trend toward nonbelief will likely continue and argues that the sooner we recognize that religion is frequently and freely rejected by all sorts of men and women, the sooner our understanding of the human condition will improve. The first book of its kind, Faith No More will appeal to anyone interested in the "New Atheism" and indeed to anyone wishing to more fully understand our changing relationship to religious faith.

No More Christian Nice Guy written by Paul Coughlin and has been published by Baker Books this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2016-07-05 with Religion categories.

Revised and Expanded Edition of a Life-Changing Book Recovering nice guy Paul Coughlin points the way for all men who yearn to live a life of boldness and conviction--like Jesus. Using anecdotes from his own life, powerful and poignant stories, and vivid examples from our culture, Coughlin shows how men can say no to the "nice guy" syndrome and yes to a life of purpose, passion, and vitality. In this revised and expanded edition, Coughlin adds vital insights on the changes he's seen in churches and the greater culture in the decade since No More Christian Nice Guy was first published. This radical and hopeful message elevates the true biblical model of manhood and now includes testimonials from men and women whose lives have been altered by this book. Coughlin also looks at the shifting expectations men face in relationships and in the workplace, and how younger Christians, in particular, are subject to harmful views about masculinity. Part inspiration, part instruction, and part manifesto, this book gives men the courage to move from passivity to assertiveness.

Christian Author Paschal Sukambi No More Hate No More Hate by Paschal Sukambi is an incredible book that speaks of Christ’s love. The Christians today overlook the vital purpose of our mission of faith is love. We teach about faith, and hope but forget to demonstrate and practice love. The book covers different angles of love but begins with revealing that knowing and comprehending love goes together with knowing and comprehending God, and following the ways of love, is following the ways of God and nothing less. Well-scripted by the scriptures, the book seeks out to illuminate and impart Christians to devote in searching for the full knowledge of God’s love, and understand that Love is who we are, and love defines us as Christians; for we were created in the image of Love. Additionally, the book reveals that, the diversity between a Christ’s believer and a Non-believer in these end times does not originate from the teachings and practices, but rather the love of God that dwells within Christian’s hearts that the world needs to experience. The author also reveals from the book that, in these end days not only most do hate each other, but reasonably hate one another; as the bible speaks in (Matthew 24:12) that as the result of the iniquities abound the love of many including Christians shall wax cold. The author advocates that, Christians should deeply hear and learn about the subject of love, understand it, meditate it, practice it, so as to be able to do accordingly. No More Hate book comes as a recommendation book to help every Christian to do according to the commandment of God; love one another. It is informative and instructive kind of book and one the author urges every Christian to consider having one. Get your copy of No More Hate.

Since the beginning of the church, Christians have always struggled with culture and how best to relate to our world. We are all familiar with the adage, . . . in the world but not of the world. We are aware that the Scripture requires us to be Salt and light as well as not to be conformed to the image of this world. But the problem is that many of us have our blinders on and consequently we are unable to make a determination of whether we are in or of the world. Inside the church where we strive to be holy and pure, the contamination of the world has become so pronounced that certain questionable activities and attitudes prevail. Therefore, life becomes very confusing. So what is a Christian to do? Some drop out, others ignore or refuse to heed the call to righteous living, while still others make up their own rules as they continue to live out their days. However, there always is a remnant of Christians who take the Bible and Christian living seriously enough to return to the basics of Christianity and then earnestly attempt to transform our culture for Christ.

Society says youth is a time for carefree self-expression, but Trip Lee says God has called everyone to RISE from slumber, above low expectations, and to live for the risen King. The world tells us that our early years are to be irresponsibly enjoyed rather than devoted to meaningful pursuits. We’re told that responsibility and commitment are burdens to be put off as long as possible. And so, most of us spend our youth in a sad state of slumber—sleeping in on life until we’re forced to get up. The problem is that life has already begun. It’s happening right now. And God has called you to live it. In this powerful book, Trip Lee argues it’s time to wake up and RISE, to live the way we were created to live. Young or old, we’ve been called to live for Him. Right now. Young believers face the same problems as older Christians, but they feel them in unique ways. RISE addresses those core problems in an engaging, profound, and life-changing way. Don't just sit there: RISE!

They want to be faithful but struggle to find a place where they flourish. Whether they've already left the church behind or are merely considering it, readers will find here both heartfelt encouragement and practical steps for finding or creating a community of faith that honors God and offers rest, love, and communion with other believers. Author Kelly Bean broadens our definition of church to include many alternative forms of Christian community. With true stories of those who have given up on church and what they're doing now, this book is also helpful for pastors and churchgoers to help them understand why people leave the church--and what might be done to help them stay.
