The Covid-19 pandemic provoked many questions. It is human nature to want to know how and why things happen. The sovereign God has created a beautiful, intricate world in which multiple factors interact to cause an event. We are called to properly understand creation, but often fail because we tend to be lazy, fearful, and self-serving. We make judgments based on (often incorrect) assumptions about cause-and-effect relations, and we seek reassuring explanations for both trivial and serious events. Christians have the added complication of figuring out God's role in making things happen. All Things Wise and Wonderful examines what the Bible and Christian theology say about cause and effect, how science views causation in the world, and how human mind-brains judge causation. Using illustrations from everyday life, it offers guidance for Christians to think and act wisely with respect to how and why things happen in creation.

‘Superbly written, utterly Bible based. . . Do not hesitate!’ Archbishop Justin Welby What are we supposed to think about the coronavirus crisis? Some people think they know: ‘This is a sign of the End,’ they say. ‘It’s all predicted in the book of Revelation.’ Others disagree but are equally clear: ‘This is a call to repent. God is judging the world and through this disease he’s telling us to change.’ Some join in the chorus of blame and condemnation: ‘It’s the fault of the Chinese, the government, the World Health Organization...' Tom Wright examines these reactions to the virus and finds them wanting. Instead, he invites you to consider a different way of seeing and responding – a way that draws on the teachings and examples of scripture, and above all on the way of living, thinking and praying revealed to us by Jesus.

Employing a multidisciplinary approach, and drawing upon varied data sources, including surveys, digital ethnography, and process tracing, it presents unprecedented insights into church-state relations, religious practices, and theological traditions during this crisis. Chapters analyze divergent responses across countries, underscore religious-political interplay, and expose tensions between formal and informal power networks. Through case studies, the book highlights the innovative adaptability within the faith, demonstrated by new religious practices and the active role of local priests in responding to the pandemic. It critically examines how the actions of religious and political figures influenced public health outcomes. Offering a fresh perspective, the book suggests that the pandemic may have permanently influenced the relationship between Orthodox Christianity, public health, and society.

Towards the end of 2019, I started to feel that the Lord, our God, had had enough of the stubborn and stiff necked people as their wickedness, rebellion, and disobedience continued against him and his son. These actions were a resemblance of the days of Noah, Sodom, Gomorrah, and Nineveh. I felt that Jesus, the son of God, no longer had a home here on Earth. There was no place for him in homes, playgrounds, workplaces, and sadly, no home in the churches that worshipped his holy name. I witnessed the wrath of God against Satan, beginning with the apocalyptic fires in Australia that killed millions of animals and destroyed the beautiful land. I began to warn the world through my posts starting on January 5, 2020. I knew his wrath would continue, this time by way of an apocalyptic pandemic that would kill thousands of people. I began to dream about the looming crisis and started to share with the world through my social media. I decided to write my first post on January 30, 2020 relating to the pandemic, calling for a worldwide chain of prayer. I knew the Coronavirus pandemic could not be treated and that many casualties could be expected. I could feel that God was angry while Satan was elated at the state of our world. Following my posts in January of 2020, the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic began evolving. I continued to cry out to the world, but was attacked, mocked, and threatened as people accused me of spreading rumors. I was told to stop, as people said, “This virus is nothing. It’s just another flu.” Others said, “You’re supposed to be a scientist and should know that the seasonal flu takes the lives of thousands every year. This Coronavirus is no threat.” I wished that they all would see what I see and hear what I hear, but few did. I decided to record all of my thoughts, dreams, nightmares, prayers, reflections, and predictions about this dangerous and lethal pandemic that the world was trying to dismiss. This book consists of 73 chapters across under ten sections, contain all of my posts in the order that they were written as well as my notes regarding what I have seen beginning in January 2020 until now, including my thoughts on the post-pandemic era. Some of my predictions have already occurred while others have yet to be seen. I believe that the message we should receive from all of this is that the world must look to our God, the almighty, and his son, Jesus, our Savior. The son shall return and God will lift his wrath as we all go through our journey of repentance here on earth for our salvation lies with the blood of Jesus. Only recently I have started to receive calls in which the people that doubted me have apologized that they did not listen sooner. They have seen that I knew what was coming and tried to warn them. While the Coronavirus pandemic continues, I pray that the Lord will have mercy upon our people and upon the face of the earth.

Covid 19 And Pain written by Peter Harris and has been published by Wipf and Stock Publishers this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2022-05-26 with Religion categories.

The COVID-19 pandemic has been the cause of much pain. In light of this, can Christians still believe in God? And if they do, can they still believe that he is all-good, all-powerful, and all-knowing? In this book, Peter Harris looks at these difficult questions and answers yes! After establishing that COVID-19 is not God's judgment and without denigrating other worldviews, Harris demonstrates that Christianity has a moral philosophy which has led historically to robust and compassionate responses to pandemics, a response that is seen in Christian behavior today. Hospitals using modern science are on the front line in the battle with COVID-19. According to Harris, history demonstrates that it was Christians who first established hospitals and whose worldview gave rise to modern science in the first place. Turning to philosophy, Harris presents reasons to believe that God is congruent with pain with the argument from free will as his focus. Finally, Harris considers the pandemic from a pastoral argument, analyzing the pain of grief and explaining God's rescue package from a world of pain. If you want some serious reflection on COVID-19, this is a book for you.

From the best-selling author of God and Donald Trump, which was brandished by the president at the World Economic Forum in Davos How the Pandemic Is Affecting Christians, the World, and America's 2020 Election This book is a timely follow up to God, Trump and the 2020 Election that reveals insider information about China, the virus, and the ever-increasing stakes of the upcoming election. It will answer the question for the Christian believers (and seekers) of where God is in all this? It provides a little known prophecy by the late David Wilkerson about a plague coming that would shut down the government as well as churches and bars, including shaking New York City as it's never been shaken. Wilkerson said this plague would force believers into radical prayer that will spark an awakening--something echoed by Christian leaders and prophets. Just as the economy was booming and Donald Trump was fixing long-term problems and beating back attacks from his opponents, a brand-new virus shakes up everything including the outcome of this election. The author has inside information about what happened in China early in the pandemic and what went wrong. He even documents how Donald Trump has led the nation in this time of crisis. In 2016, God raised up Donald Trump to lead America at a pivotal time. Evangelicals who recognized this backed him more than any other presidential candidate in history. Heading into Election Day 2020, the stakes are even higher, especially with the uncertainty and upheaval caused by COVID-19. This book is really "part two" of God, Trump and the 2020 Election which details the fight for the soul of America. Strang believes readers need both books to understand and explain what's at stake. With the shutdown caused by the pandemic, serious anti-Christian trends surfaced, such as some states closing "non-essential" churches but allowing liquor stores to provide curbside service. Or ceasing all elective surgeries except abortion, which is the taking of a life while the purpose in shutting down the economy was to save lives from this dreaded virus. “This is a time when the fragile form of this world is felt. The seemingly solid foundations are shaking. The question we should be asking is, Do we have a Rock under our feet? A Rock that cannot be shaken—ever?” —John Piper On January 11, 2020, a novel coronavirus (COVID-19) reportedly claimed its first victim in the Hubei province of China. By March 11, 2020, the World Health Organization had declared a global pandemic. In the midst of this fear and uncertainty, it is natural to wonder what God is doing. In Coronavirus and Christ, John Piper invites readers around the world to stand on the solid Rock, who is Jesus Christ, in whom our souls can be sustained by the sovereign God who ordains, governs, and reigns over all things to accomplish his wise and good purposes for those who trust in him. What is God doing through the coronavirus? Piper offers six biblical answers to that question, showing us that God is at work in this moment in history.
