In the second century, Platonist and Judeo-Christian thought were sufficiently friendly that a Greek philosopher could declare, "What is Plato but Moses speaking Greek?" Four hundred years later, a Christian emperor had ended the public teaching of subversive Platonic thought. When and how did this philosophical rupture occur? Dylan M. Burns argues that the fundamental break occurred in Rome, ca. 263, in the circle of the great mystic Plotinus, author of the Enneads. Groups of controversial Christian metaphysicians called Gnostics ("knowers") frequented his seminars, disputed his views, and then disappeared from the history of philosophy—until the 1945 discovery, at Nag Hammadi, Egypt, of codices containing Gnostic literature, including versions of the books circulated by Plotinus's Christian opponents. Blending state-of-the-art Greek metaphysics and ecstatic Jewish mysticism, these texts describe techniques for entering celestial realms, participating in the angelic liturgy, confronting the transcendent God, and even becoming a divine being oneself. They also describe the revelation of an alien God to his elect, a race of "foreigners" under the protection of the patriarch Seth, whose interventions will ultimately culminate in the end of the world. Apocalypse of the Alien God proposes a radical interpretation of these long-lost apocalypses, placing them firmly in the context of Judeo-Christian authorship rather than ascribing them to a pagan offshoot of Gnosticism. According to Burns, this Sethian literature emerged along the fault lines between Judaism and Christianity, drew on traditions known to scholars from the Dead Sea Scrolls and Enochic texts, and ultimately catalyzed the rivalry of Platonism with Christianity. Plunging the reader into the culture wars and classrooms of the high Empire, Apocalypse of the Alien God offers the most concrete social and historical description available of any group of Gnostic Christians as it explores the intersections of ancient Judaism, Christianity, Hellenism, myth, and philosophy.

Messengers of an Alien God(Occult Science Fiction)After the Fall The small rural town of Creedance, Missouri, finds itself hosting a crashed alien flying saucer of gargantuan proportions. The saucer's crew are beautiful but amorphous creatures resemble Old-Testament angels, claim to be immortal but claim no knowledge of any religion. Beyond What We Know Coincidental with the crash of the alien sauce, the electromagnetic pulse of a stratospheric nuclear explosion has knocked all solid-state electronic devices, including radios, televisions, car ignition systems, cell phones and most landline telephone systems, power-plant control computers and even digital watches. Creedance is isolated from the rest of the world. Minotaur Then, one by one, local residents disappear or are found sexually mutilated. A few citizens begin to wonder why they and the rest of their neighbors have accepted the archangels with initial indifference. Lost Souls As more residents disappear, the an odd alliance of a right-wing sheriff, a new-age waitress, an eccentric intellectual and his wife, and stranded college student seek clues to the true nature of the angels. What they learn is a shock to all concerned, including the archangels themselves. The dramatis personae include: Sheriff John Wright, right-wing lawman with marital problems; Uncle Robert Jacobsen, resident savant, polyglot, bibliophile and possibly a borderline schizophrenic; Sophia Blackstone, muralist, common-law wife to Uncle Robert, and one of the few educated Afro-Americans in town; Bryan Douglas, one-time philosophy major, one-time English major, one-time journalism major and college dropout, currently a career woodcutter; Laura Jacobsen, Uncle Robert's sexually manipulative niece; an Doctor Charles Jenkins, reformed alcoholic and country doctor. From the Author:By no means am I using this genre for a pulpit. This cannot be called religious fiction by any stretch of the imagination. Nor am I an atheist with a grudge trying to seize the bully pulpit from those who are religious. I'm simply trying to tell a good story, one inspired by a reoccurring lucid dream and out-of-body experience. I strove to write about unique concepts, strong characters and intriguing situations. I didn't set out to write a novel, not to mention a trilogy, but more questions arose as I answered the first questions, and the characters I thought I had control over seemed to develop a life independent of any outline I produced, and second and third novels,Dreamtime of an Alien God and Awakening of an Alien God, were the result. -R. Douglas Burns

"Ancient humans created many incredible things that could not have been possible with their not-so-advance technology. These amazing structures and things make us believe that gods might have helped humans to build them. Who are gods? Where did they come from? These questions are answered by different religions. All religions state that gods came from heaven, but a question – Where is heaven and is it a planet? – arises from this statement. This book tries to answer this question with evidence of aliens in different civilization, close encounters of aliens with humans and alien technology."

Hinduism, Buddhism, Taoism, Islam, Judaism, Christianity, and the New Age Movement have radically different views of God and the hereafter. This book presents a concise summary of each religion’s core beliefs and, using the rules of evidence, establishes which religious claims are credible. It answers questions such as: Is God real or an illusion? Are there many gods or just one? Are we subject to reincarnation and karmic retribution? Can we communicate with spirit guides in other dimensions? In Which god Is God?, Adrian Adams provides an easy to understand guide for those who want to know if God exists and how to separate truth from speculation about our souls and eternity.
