Classical Charged Particles written by F. Rohrlich and has been published by World Scientific this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2007 with Science categories.
Originally written in 1964, this famous text is a study of the classical theory of charged particles. Many applications treat electrons as point particles. At the same time, there is a widespread belief that the theory of point particles is beset with various difficulties such as an infinite electrostatic self-energy, a rather doubtful equation of motion which admits physically meaningless solutions, violation of causality and others. The classical theory of charged particles has been largely ignored and has been left in an incomplete state since the discovery of quantum mechanics. Despite the great efforts of men such as Lorentz, Abraham, Poincar, and Dirac, it is usually regarded as a ?lost cause?. But thanks to progress made just a few years ago, the author is able to resolve the various problems and to complete this unfinished theory successfully.

Widely-discussed in the theory of classical point charges are the difficulties of divergent self-energy, self-accelerating solutions, and pre-acceleration. This book explains the theory in the context of quantum electrodynamics, the neutral particle limit, and coherence with neighboring theories.

Basic Electromagnetic Theory written by James Babington and has been published by Walter de Gruyter GmbH & Co KG this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2016-07-21 with Science categories.
This concise introduction to electromagnetic field theory emphasizes the physical foundations of the subject. Based on the author's experience both as a former field theorist (working on quantum electrodynamics) and currently as an applied optical physicist, it covers much material from the standard university syllabus plus develops a number of themes in greater detail, so as to cover non-standard topics that provide a fuller understanding of the subject.

18th Advanced Icfa Beam Dynamics Workshop On Quantum Aspects Of Beam Physics written by Pisin Chen and has been published by World Scientific this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2002 with Science categories.
This proceedings volume records the advances in quantum beam physics since the first meeting in Monterey (1998). In addition to further progress regarding quantum effects in beam dynamics, photon-electron interaction in beam handling, beam phenomena under strong fields, and quantum methodologies in beam physics, the newly introduced topics ? the physics of condensed beams as well as astro-beam physics and laboratory astrophysics ? have also been well documented by world experts in the field. This book should be a valuable reference to those who are interested in the joint frontiers of beam physics and other fields such as astrophysics and condensed matter physics.

Gauge Symmetries Symmetry Breaking And Gauge Invariant Approaches written by Philipp Berghofer and has been published by Cambridge University Press this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2023-08-03 with Science categories.
Gauge symmetries play a central role, both in the mathematical foundations as well as the conceptual construction of modern (particle) physics theories. However, it is yet unclear whether they form a necessary component of theories, or whether they can be eliminated. It is also unclear whether they are merely an auxiliary tool to simplify (and possibly localize) calculations or whether they contain independent information. Therefore their status, both in physics and philosophy of physics, remains to be fully clarified. This Element reviews the current state of affairs on both the philosophy and the physics side. In particular, it focuses on the circumstances in which the restriction of gauge theories to gauge invariant information on an observable level is warranted, using the Brout-Englert-Higgs theory as an example of particular current importance. Finally, the authors determine a set of yet to be answered questions to clarify the status of gauge symmetries.
