Clean Numerical Simulation written by Shijun Liao and has been published by this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2023 with Chaotic behavior in systems categories.

"This book proposes a new strategy to gain "clean" reliable numerical simulations of chaos and turbulence, namely the Clean Numerical Simulation (CNS), which can greatly reduce numerical noises to a tiny level much smaller than that of true solutions so that numerical noises are negligible, and the corresponding numerical simulation is "clean" and thus reliable. By means of the CNS, one can gain "clean" reliable numerical simulations of chaotic systems in a long enough interval of time. The CNS provides a much more reliable tool than ever to study chaotic and turbulent systems in various fields of science and engineering. In this book, the author will describe the basic ideas of the CNS and illustrate the CNS as a new powerful tool for chaos and turbulence. Unlike traditional algorithms in single/double precision, the CNS can provide us the "clean" results of chaos and turbulence. Using these "clean" results as benchmark solutions, we can investigate many important scientific problems, such as the origin of macroscopic randomness, the influence of micro-level uncertainty and tiny external noises to chaos and turbulence, and so on. Comparing the "clean" CNS results with those badly "polluted" by numerical noises, one can investigate the influence of database noises on machine learning. Through this application and more, the author illustrates the validity and potential of the CNS. The CNS is as a new, powerful tool for chaos and turbulence. It opens a new door for us to enter a "clean" numerical world"--

Clean Numerical Simulation written by Shijun Liao and has been published by CRC Press this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2023-10-25 with Mathematics categories.

This book describes the basic principles of Clean Numerical Simulation (CNS) proposed by the author in 2009, as well as several of its applications. Unlike conventional algorithms, CNS gives in a sufficiently long interval of time a convergent chaotic trajectory whose numerical noise is much lower than the true physical solution, so that one can gain accurately. Thus, CNS provides for the first time an ability to check statistics stability of chaos, leading to a completely new concept of "ultra-chaos," which has both trajectory instability and statistics instability, and thus is of a higher disorder. Notably, it is impossible to repeat experimental results of ultra-chaos even in the statistical sense. However, the reproducibility of physical experiments forms a cornerstone for modern science. Thus, ultra-chaos reveals an incompleteness of the modern science paradigm. In addition, it also reveals statistics stability as a precondition for use of conventional algorithms, including direct numerical simulation (DNS). In Clean Numerical Simulation, several conjectures and open problems are proposed, including a modified fourth Clay millennium problem. Indeed, CNS opens the door for us to enter the "clean" numerical world of chaos and turbulence.

There is something Alice-in-Wonderlandish about powerful and vital computer systems being shut down by a microscopic mote that a hay-feverist wouldn't sneeze at, but as computer chips get smaller, smaller and smaller particles on their surface have a larger and larger effect on their performance. Engineering Statics With Matlab written by Lester W. Schmerr Jr. and has been published by CRC Press this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2024-03-07 with Mathematics categories.

This text makes use of symbolic algebra and vector-matrix algebra to demonstrate a new approach to learning statics. Symbolic solutions are obtained, together with the types of solutions covered in other texts, so that students can see the advantages of this new approach. This innovative text is an extension of second-generation vector Statics courses to a new, third-generation matrix-vector Statics course, a course that addresses deformable as well as rigid bodies and employs MATLAB®. MATLAB® is used as a “calculator” whose built-in functions are used to solve statics problems. This text uses vectors and matrices to solve both statically determinate rigid body problems and statically indeterminate problems for deformable bodies. The inclusion of statically indeterminate problems is unique to this text. It is made possible by using symbolic algebra and a new, simplified vector-matrix formulation that combines the equations of equilibrium, the homogeneous solutions to those equations, and a description of the flexibilities found in the deformable elements of a structure to solve directly for the unknown forces/moments.

Inverse Analyses With Model Reduction written by Vladimir Buljak and has been published by Springer Science & Business Media this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2011-11-08 with Technology & Engineering categories.

In this self-consistent monograph, the author gathers and describes different mathematical techniques and combines all together to form practical procedures for the inverse analyses. It puts together topics coming from mathematical programming, with soft computing and Proper Orthogonal Decomposition, in order to show, in the context of structural analyses, how the things work and what are the main problems one needs to tackle. Throughout the book a number of examples and exercises are worked out in order to make reader practically familiar with discussed topics.

This book aims to provide an example-based education in numerical methods for atomistic and continuum simulations of systems at and away from equilibrium. The focus is on nonequilibrium systems, stressing the use of tools from dynamical systems theory for their analysis. Lyapunov instability and fractal dimensionality are introduced and algorithms for their analysis are detailed. The book is intended to be self-contained and accessible to students who are comfortable with calculus and differential equations. The wide range of topics covered will provide students, researchers and academics with effective tools for formulating and solving interesting problems, both atomistic and continuum. The detailed description of the use of thermostats to control nonequilibrium systems will help readers in writing their own programs rather than being saddled with packaged software.

This volume provides unique views of combustion from many technical and international research perspectives. Combustion science is often considered from its negative environmental impact, where we find, instead, that energy release from fuels of all kinds have promoted human endeavor throughout history. This volume tries to capture some of these positive features by showing a range of work examining unusual fuels and controlling the pollution from them.
