Cloak Of Courage written by Gail M. Arroita and has been published by this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2015-02-10 with Bullying categories.

Author Gail Arroita, in her 'Let's Do Life' children's book series uses rhythmic text and endearing after-life characters to depict life as it is for kids growing up in the 21st century and offers life-lessons for, 'every little monster'. The issues addressed range from cyber bullying to personal finance, good manners to communication, and are purposely aimed at educating children about each specific subject. The first book in the series to be released is 'The Cloak of Courage'. In it we meet the unique after-life characters from 'Ickity Stickity Land' whose endearing personalities come alive through the artistic talent of illustrator, Ian Coate. The first of these after-life characters is Victor Vampire. Vic is both mentor and hero who offers his imaginary 'Cloak of Courage' to those being bullied. Readers also meet Zac Zombie, Skye Werewolf and Spike Skeleton who take Vic's words of wisdom and Cloak of Courage and transform heroically into courageous and strong individuals who now have self-esteem and a self-assuredness which prior to the Cloak, eluded them. The life lessons are learnt by seeing first-hand how the Ickity Stickity folk such as Vic, Zac, Skye and Spike tackle the same everyday issues human kiddies encounter. Children form a relatedness to each of the characters for they see a part of themselves sharing the same concerns, hopes, fears and joy that the Ickity Stickity kids experience, and learn how to deal with them in the same way they do.Bullying is the predominate theme which 'The Cloak of Courage' addresses. We witness the victimization of Zac, Skye and Spike as they each deal with being bullied for simply being who they are. Wearing the Cloak of Courage gave them courage. The Cloak changed the way they felt about themselves. It transformed them physically. Slumped shoulders, downcast eyes and an air of defeat transformed instantaneously to heads held high, straight backs and a confidence purposely designed to deflect the predatory advances of a bully.

Performing ceremonies makes me feel like I have a say in how my life turns out. It makes me feel like I have some form of control in how it all plays out. Taking part in a ceremony means I am asking for help. I put in my request, back it up with the power of my creative intention, and then I try to surrender to the weave already in progress. The early life of queen Gorgo involved helping her father reject the bribes of a tyrant as well as preparing herself for a glorious future as the queen of Sparta. "She always knew the fear would come. The body remembers the pain, but not the soul, she remembered a warm maternal voice telling her. You can overcome this, the voice said. The girl wrapped herself in a scarlet cloak. For a moment, she imagined that it was blood-spattered, but then she told herself that the cloak belonged to someone who faced the fear and won. Phobos, intangible fear, peered at her malevolently through the darkness, flashing momentary glimpses of courage in retreat. Gorgo felt a gulf between her and the world beyond precious walls dissolved. The imperturbable blackness remained, an uninvited guest mocking the solidity of her presence. Gorgo remained utterly still, feeling her defiance quietly growing in strength. She felt a brave dawn shimmering through the mist of formless fear. And then a hand reached for hers. She looked to her right and saw a boy whose eyes instantly locked onto hers. The sudden sensation of hands entwined surpassed the feeling of fearful flesh devouring her heart. The boy maintained his eyes on her as he held her hand tightly. Gorgo saw the look of courage in the boy's eyes. She knew that they both had to walk through the darkness and make it to the other side. As they held hands, they both saw an army rising and facing the darkness. Warriors sprung from the unwholesome blackness and began to assault the fear. Cries of pain echoed loudly for a moment, submerging the two children. Gorgo and the boy felt the darkness being defeated, their hearts beating in near-unison. Gorgo looked at the boy and imagined seeing war scars on his body. Then she knew who the boy was: Leonidas. The darkness now began to dissolve, and bright dawn light came pouring through the dying mist. Gorgo and Leonidas realized that they had already walked through the darkness. They had both overcome fear. Gorgo held on to the scarlet cloak. The boy was gone. Gorgo stood before an ocean of brightness. She blinked her eyes in a near-disbelieving fashion, as though expecting herself to awake from a dream. She still felt the boy's touch on her hand."

Half a dozen guardsmen and musketeers reeled out. The host reviled them for a pack of rogues. They cursed him, laughing, and went on, to be swallowed up in the darkness beyond. The tavern door closed, and once more the alley was hued with melting greys and purples. The man in the cloak examined the strings of his mask, tilted his hat still farther down over his eyes, and tested the looseness of his sword...FROM THE BOOKS.

If you enjoyed The Red Tent you will likely also enjoy Sarai, High Priestess of Ur, as this story unfolds the hidden early life of the first matriarch of Genesis and her journey towards her destiny. The Bible defines Sarah as the obedient wife of the Patriarch Abraham. The jewish priests who wrote Genesis more than a thousand years after Sarah allegedly lived defined her role for her in accordance with their beliefs. But some scholars believe that Sarah was a priestess, not only a priestess but a high priestess serving the Goddess Inanna in the temple at Ur. This novel presents Sarah as the High Priestess who celebrates the Sacred Marriage ritual with kings and pharaohs to confirm their right to rule. But an adventurous journey begins when Sarah rejects the "sacred" laws of Ur's priesthood and she must flee for her life!
