Depuis quelques années, les usages nocturnes de la ville se sont intensifiés face à la mise en place historique d'un couvre-feu. En effet, l'évolution des modes de vie tend vers une désynchronisation des temps sociaux entre eux et avec les rythmes individuels. Cependant, ce phénomène a son revers : des conflits de cohabitation se formalisent entre le sommeil et le ludico-festif En parallèle, cet espace-temps séduit les Villes pour envisager leur régénération. La mise en compétition des métropoles pour l'attractivité urbaine encourage à développer les pratiques touristiques et à la valorisation des espaces patrimoniaux des centres. Pour autant, la fabrique institutionnelle pose des conflits de légitimité à propos des usages (in-)désirables. Se pose la question du droit à la ville la nuit.
