Collective trusts funds and other commingled funds comprise a major--and rapidly growing--segment of the asset management and pension fields. However, to date, little guidance has been available to practitioners for the day-to-day issues and problems they may confront in dealing with these investment vehicles. Collective Trusts and Other Commingled Funds: Law and Regulation addresses this need by providing a comprehensive explanation of collective and common trust funds, their structure and operations, and the extensive regulatory framework governing them. In addition, the book provides extensive primary source materials as appendices.

The culmination of nearly three decades of research, Collective Trust offers new insight and practical knowledge on the social construction of trust for school improvement. The authors argue that collective trust is not merely an average trust score for a group, but rather an independent concept with distinctive origins and consequences. The book demonstrates that schools are organizations that require environments characterized by high levels of collective trust to be effective. Including an historical overview, an exhaustive review of the empirical research, and implications for school reform policy and leadership, this is the most comprehensive resource to date on the issue of collective trust.

Trust Based Collective View Prediction written by Tiejian Luo and has been published by Springer Science & Business Media this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2013-06-28 with Computers categories.

Collective view prediction is to judge the opinions of an active web user based on unknown elements by referring to the collective mind of the whole community. Content-based recommendation and collaborative filtering are two mainstream collective view prediction techniques. They generate predictions by analyzing the text features of the target object or the similarity of users’ past behaviors. Still, these techniques are vulnerable to the artificially-injected noise data, because they are not able to judge the reliability and credibility of the information sources. Trust-based Collective View Prediction describes new approaches for tackling this problem by utilizing users’ trust relationships from the perspectives of fundamental theory, trust-based collective view prediction algorithms and real case studies. The book consists of two main parts – a theoretical foundation and an algorithmic study. The first part will review several basic concepts and methods related to collective view prediction, such as state-of-the-art recommender systems, sentimental analysis, collective view, trust management, the Relationship of Collective View and Trustworthy, and trust in collective view prediction. In the second part, the authors present their models and algorithms based on a quantitative analysis of more than 300 thousand users’ data from popular product-reviewing websites. They also introduce two new trust-based prediction algorithms, one collaborative algorithm based on the second-order Markov random walk model, and one Bayesian fitting model for combining multiple predictors. The discussed concepts, developed algorithms, empirical results, evaluation methodologies and the robust analysis framework described in Trust-based Collective View Prediction will not only provide valuable insights and findings to related research communities and peers, but also showcase the great potential to encourage industries and business partners to integrate these techniques into new applications.

Understanding Trust in Organizations: A Multilevel Perspective examines trust within organizations from a multilevel perspective, bringing together internationally renowned trust scholars to advance our understanding of how trust is affected by both macro and micro forces, such as those operating at the societal, institutional, network, organizational, team, and individual levels. Understanding Trust in Organizations synthesizes and promotes new scholarly work examining the emergence and embeddedness of multilevel trust within organizations. It provides a much-needed integration and novel conceptual advances regarding the dynamic interplay between micro and macro levels that influence trust. This volume brings new insights into how trust in groups, networks, and organizations forms, and why employees can differ in their trust in leaders and teams. Providing rich and nuanced insights into how to develop, maintain, and restore trust in the workplace, Understanding Trust in Organizations is a critical resource for scholars, graduate students, and researchers of industrial and organizational psychology, as well as practitioners in fields such as human resource management and strategic management. Managing Collective Investment Funds This textbook is for those who wish to understand the regulation, investment management, administration and marketing of the collective investment funds - also known as mutual funds, unit trusts or investment trust companies - and the management of a business which operates such funds. The authors wrote the book as a result of providing training and advice to regulators and market practitioners worldwide - particularly in emerging markets - and finding that there was no generic international guide to understanding the investment fund business and its regulation and operation. The textbook is the basis for the training course delivered by the authors in the United Kingdom and around the world.

Trust—whether it is between individuals, within teams, or between organizations—is embedded in a multilevel system where the environment and member interactions jointly affect trust at any level. Yet research on trust at different levels of analysis has largely developed independently with little cross-fertilization. This book brings together six chapters that take levels effects explicitly into account to extend our current knowledge about the dynamics of trust. The chapters examine diverse issues including theoretical and practical implications of multilevel trust, temporal dynamics of trust and how to model it, the mutually influencing relationship between interpersonal trust and organizational structures, and trust in specific contexts such as merger, public market, and economic downturn. By adopting the multilevel approach, these chapters provide more nuanced and realistic insights on trust and yield knowledge that otherwise may be erroneous or unattainable. Together, they illustrate unique challenges and opportunities for understanding trust in the changing landscape of work relationships. The chapters in this book were originally published as a special issue of the Journal of Trust Research.
