Color Blindness affects eight percent of males, accounting for one in twelve males. It is a condition that is carried by a recessive gene through the X chromosome, making males have a higher chance of being affected compared to females. To be able to determine who is affected, the most popular color blind test in the market is the Ishihara Color Blind Test, using multiple versions of the number of plates. These current methods of testing require instructional comprehension and a response which young toddlers are not able to exhibit. As a result, they are not diagnosed before encountering struggles in their lives. These struggles will have a negative psychological effect on their confidence and self-esteem when not diagnosed or misdiagnosed. Interviews will be conducted on mothers on the ability of children in certain ages to determine which age bracket is suitable for early diagnosis. After which, an analysis would be made by observing how toddlers in this age bracket behave and the extent of their abilities, both analytically and physically. This is required to be able to design an effective means of testing. By designing a device to determine if toddlers are color blind early in their childhood, they will be able to adjust and cope with their conditionbetter.
