Combustion Theory written by Forman A. Williams and has been published by CRC Press this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2018-03-05 with Science categories.
Combustion Theory delves deeper into the science of combustion than most other texts and gives insight into combustions from a molecular and a continuum point of view. The book presents derivations of the basic equations of combustion theory and contains appendices on the background of subjects of thermodynamics, chemical kinetics, fluid dynamics, and transport processes. Diffusion flames, reactions in flows with negligible transport and the theory of pre-mixed flames are treated, as are detonation phenomena, the combustion of solid propellents, and ignition, extinction, and flamibility pehnomena.

Theory Of Solid Propellant Nonsteady Combustion written by Boris V. Novozhilov and has been published by John Wiley & Sons this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2020-09-02 with Technology & Engineering categories.
Despite significant developments and widespread theoretical and practical interest in the area of Solid-Propellant Nonsteady Combustion for the last fifty years, a comprehensive and authoritative text on the subject has not been available. Theory of Solid-Propellant Nonsteady Combustion fills this gap by summarizing theoretical approaches to the problem within the framework of the Zeldovich-Novozhilov (ZN-) theory. This book contains equations governing unsteady combustion and applies them systematically to a wide range of problems of practical interest. Theory conclusions are validated, as much as possible, against available experimental data. Theory of Solid-Propellant Nonsteady Combustion provides an accurate up-to-date account and perspectives on the subject and is also accompanied by a website hosting solutions to problems in the book.

Turbulent Combustion written by Norbert Peters and has been published by Cambridge University Press this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2000-08-15 with Science categories.
The combustion of fossil fuels remains a key technology for the foreseeable future. It is therefore important that we understand the mechanisms of combustion and, in particular, the role of turbulence within this process. Combustion always takes place within a turbulent flow field for two reasons: turbulence increases the mixing process and enhances combustion, but at the same time combustion releases heat which generates flow instability through buoyancy, thus enhancing the transition to turbulence. The four chapters of this book present a thorough introduction to the field of turbulent combustion. After an overview of modeling approaches, the three remaining chapters consider the three distinct cases of premixed, non-premixed, and partially premixed combustion, respectively. This book will be of value to researchers and students of engineering and applied mathematics by demonstrating the current theories of turbulent combustion within a unified presentation of the field.

This book aims to provide a broad view of combustion science, written for readers who may be specialists in one of the combustion-related areas, but who require a knowledge of the subject as a whole. The work is in three parts. Parts 1 and 2 contain an account of combustion theory, with emphasis on turbulent flame phenomena, coal combustion and fire problems. Part 3 concerns combustion design, research fundamentals and combustion technology.

Introduction To Physics And Chemistry Of Combustion written by Michael A. Liberman and has been published by Springer Science & Business Media this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2010-03-14 with Science categories.
Most of the material covered in this book deals with the fundamentals of chemistry and physics of key processes and fundamental mechanisms for various combustion and combustion related phenomena in gaseous combustible mixture. It provides the reader with basic knowledge of burning processes and mechanisms of reaction wave propagation. The combustion of a gas mixture (flame, explosion, detonation) is necessarily accompanied by motion of the gas. The process of combustion is therefore not only a chemical phenomenon but also one of gas dynamics. The material selection focuses on the gas phase and with premixed gas combustion. Premixed gas combustion is of practical importance in engines, modern gas turbine and explosions, where the fuel and air are essentially premixed, and combustion occurs by the propagation of a front separating unburned mixture from fully burned mixture. Since premixed combustion is the most fundamental and potential for practical applications, the emphasis in the present work is be placed on regimes of premixed combustion. This text is intended for graduate students of different specialties, including physics, chemistry, mechanical engineering, computer science, mathematics and astrophysics.

An introduction to far-reaching developments in theoretical combustion, with special emphasis on flame stability, a topic that has, to date, benefited most from the application of modern asymptotic methods. The authors provide a modern view of flame theory, and a complete description of the longstanding ignition and explosion problems, including the solutions that were made available independently by Kapila and Kassoy through activation-energy asymptotics, the main theme of this monograph.

Part II of the Selected Works of Ivan Georgievich Petrowsky, contains his major papers on second order Partial differential equations, systems of ordinary. Differential equations, the theory, of Probability, the theory of functions, and the calculus of variations. Many of the articles contained in this book have Profoundly, influenced the development of modern mathematics. Of exceptional value is the article on the equation of diffusion with growing quantity of the substance. This work has found extensive application in biology, genetics, economics and other branches of natural science. Also of great importance is Petrowsky's work on a Problem which still remains unsolved - that of the number of limit cycles for ordinary differential equations with rational right-hand sides.
