Se recogen en este volumen doble los comentarios de san Jerónimo a los llamados Profetas Menores, en este tomo a Oseas, Joel, Amós, Abdías, Jonás y Miqueas. La lectura que nuestro autor hace de ellos es, básicamente, triple. En primer lugar busca el sentido literal de los textos, en el que introduce el sentido ético o moral; de ahí da un salto al sentido alegórico o espiritual, para concluir con el sentido místico. Toda su interpretación está impregnada de una gran preocupación por la crítica textual, que incluye dentro del sentido literal o histórico. Su análisis de los textos, aunque en línea con la tradición exegética de la época, no está exenta de una gran originalidad.
