The alarm and the horror that characterized the years 2020 and 2021 are fading fast, gone, or about to go, while the gentle footsteps of the Guardian spirit can be heard yonder. Images of spring, sunlight, blazing candles, brilliant flowers, and moonlit nights are taking center stage in our minds. There is hope for a better life, and a healthy situation in the world in 2022 as people start to gather on the streets, hugging and kissing; their mask-less faces display laughter, giggles, and beauty. In incredible abundance, life has come or is soon coming back, rushing in, bending down to pick up its old cloth. This anthology, Coming Out of Isolation: Poems on Resilience, Triumph & Hope, features poems written by poets after their endless days in lockdown and self-isolation. The poems herein express the poets' feelings and thoughts in a new way with a healing tonal quality, brighter and pleasant imageries, and new lively metaphors.

The book Sexual Addiction: Understanding and Treatment introduces graduate-level students to the field of sexual addiction. Graduate schools seek a textbook that specifically addresses the dynamics of sex addiction to complete their counseling education curriculum. Some professors have indicated that there is a dearth of targeted instructional content. This book fills that need. As a compendium of Dr. Carnes research related to the treatment of sexually addicted men and women, the book will serve as clinical manual for therapists. Therapists are invited to use the recovery program presented as an effective treatment regimen for sex addicts. Internet pornography addicts men and women who have a weakness for sexual stimulation. One estimate is that as much as half of the male population and a third of the female population are addicted to pornography. The need for a relevant clinical tool is real. As such, the book contains thirty-six therapeutic exercises to help sexually addicted men and women, in conjunction with sex addiction therapy, to achieve long-term sexual sobriety.

Social isolation and loneliness are serious yet underappreciated public health risks that affect a significant portion of the older adult population. Approximately one-quarter of community-dwelling Americans aged 65 and older are considered to be socially isolated, and a significant proportion of adults in the United States report feeling lonely. People who are 50 years of age or older are more likely to experience many of the risk factors that can cause or exacerbate social isolation or loneliness, such as living alone, the loss of family or friends, chronic illness, and sensory impairments. Over a life course, social isolation and loneliness may be episodic or chronic, depending upon an individual's circumstances and perceptions. A substantial body of evidence demonstrates that social isolation presents a major risk for premature mortality, comparable to other risk factors such as high blood pressure, smoking, or obesity. As older adults are particularly high-volume and high-frequency users of the health care system, there is an opportunity for health care professionals to identify, prevent, and mitigate the adverse health impacts of social isolation and loneliness in older adults. Social Isolation and Loneliness in Older Adults summarizes the evidence base and explores how social isolation and loneliness affect health and quality of life in adults aged 50 and older, particularly among low income, underserved, and vulnerable populations. This report makes recommendations specifically for clinical settings of health care to identify those who suffer the resultant negative health impacts of social isolation and loneliness and target interventions to improve their social conditions. Social Isolation and Loneliness in Older Adults considers clinical tools and methodologies, better education and training for the health care workforce, and dissemination and implementation that will be important for translating research into practice, especially as the evidence base for effective interventions continues to flourish.

TRIGGER WARNING... TRIGGER WARNING "I CANNOT SEE BECAUSE THE DARKNESS IS BLINDING ME!" Mental health has become a global crisis, affecting millions in various ways. The rising prevalence of mental illness continues to fuel stress, depression, and anxiety, igniting a relentless fire of suffering. However, rather than succumbing to the flames, one can fight back with joy—proving that resilience has the power to overcome even the darkest struggles. This growing epidemic underscores the urgent need for more effective solutions. In response, Madison Carter takes a unique and impactful approach by documenting real-life experiences and sharing them with the world. Freedom From Isolation is a raw and gripping collection of Madison Carter’s journal entries, chronicling real-life events marked by violence, adult themes, comedy, desire, and loss. This bold and unorthodox "Christian" journal takes readers on an unfiltered journey through the perilous streets of Chicago—often referred to as Chiraq—where survival is a daily battle. With unrelenting honesty, Freedom From Isolation exposes the struggles, challenges, and obstacles that threaten to consume the soul, offering a testament to the resilience needed to break free from mental bondage. Through vivid storytelling, Madison confronts the curses that have shaped her journey, sharing her experiences with fearlessness, fierceness, and forgiveness. Her reflections reveal the power of self-awareness, purposeful living, learning through mistakes, and mastering the art of love. With unwavering faith, she discovers clarity amid adversity, embracing the redemptive strength of grace. This journal serves as a powerful reminder of how isolating mental struggles can be—and the resilience required to reclaim happiness and hope. Mistakes are unintentional, while decisions are intentional! As adults, we often make poor decisions that, in hindsight, feel like mistakes. Emotions frequently cloud our judgment, leading to self-sabotage. When the mind is irrational, deception breeds delusion, resulting in choices we later regret. Life is full of ups and downs, sending our minds on a never-ending marry-go-round. Smiles fade into frowns, and spirits drown in despair. It becomes difficult to see, harder to believe—but we must believe in all things. Yet, do you fear? or have an ear? The author of Freedom From Isolation challenges readers with thought-provoking questions: Will you break, bend, or fold under trials and tribulations? What does resilience truly mean? Who—or what—is coming? These are pressing concerns, yet no one seems to have the answers. Extra, Extra! The world is under attack. Black people are under attack. Women are under attack. Masculinity is under attack. Our democracy is under attack. And now—our children are under attack! Behold… the FINAL DESTINATION is near! At a time such as this, we’ve seen a wave of coaches, prophets, and so-called inspirational leaders claim to have wisdom, yet many prove to be hypocrites, unworthy of trust. Now, we face two choices—permanent ones, with no chance for a redo. This journal is not theoretical, nor should it be taken lightly. The decision is clear: Will you endure the heat of the Sauna, facing eternal discomfort? Or will you settle into the Jacuzzi, seeking eternal ease? Choose wisely.

It is no secret that isolation is one of the key ailments of our age. But less explored is the way the church as it is frequently practiced contributes to this isolation instead of offering an alternative. With the help of Dietrich Bonhoeffer, this book argues for a renewed vision of the church community as a theological therapy to cultural, moral, and sociological isolation. It offers an account of how familiar church practices, such as Scripture reading, worship, prayer, and eating, contribute to community formation in the body of Christ.
