Lors de l'alimentation d'une machine polyphasée en général et double étoile en particulier par des onduleurs commandés par MLI, des courants de fortes amplitudes apparaissent à chaque demande de commutation. Du point de vue commande ces actionneurs sont des systèmes multi-variables fortement couplés. Les travaux présentés dans ce mémoire concernent l'étude d'une Machine Asynchrone Double Etoile (MADE) alimentée par deux onduleurs MLI. Ils traitent trois volets : dans le premier volet, nous élaborons une méthodologie pour la modélisation dynamique de la MADE. Après un passage en revue des différentes approches de modélisation, nous nous attardons sur la généralisation du formalisme vectoriel développé pour les machines polyphasées aux cas des machines multi-étoiles. Le deuxième volet de nos travaux concerne l'analyse comportementale de l'actionneur. Nous étudions l'influence des structures d'alimentation (onduleur deux ou trois niveaux) et de leurs commandes rapprochées (MLI) sur le comportement temporel de l'actionneur. Le troisième volet des travaux est dédié à la commande à structure variable par mode de glissement de l'actionneur. L'objectif des lois de commande recherchées est de gérer à la fois le contrôle du flux et du couple et la minimisation des courants circulant entre les deux étoiles. Une méthodologie pour la synthèse des lois de commande par mode de glissement est élaborée pour une machine triphasée puis étendue à la MADE. Finalement, afin de satisfaire l'objectif visé, nous proposons un algorithme de commande à structure variable basé sur la combinaison de la MLI vectorielle hexaphasée et de la commande par mode de glissement. Les études sont menées par simulation numérique et validées expérimentalement sur un banc d'essai réalisé au laboratoire.
