Why Complacency Kills is a groundbreaking book that unearths the greatest dilemma across life and business of our time - complacency. Through relatable metaphors, scientific analogies and personal anecdotes, Hassan Younes takes us on a journey that outlines the hidden issues holding us back and jeopardizing advancement, as he unveils the path to better health, happiness and success in career and business. Hassan's writing is dynamic and engaging, speaking on a level that appeals to everyone. His book is sure to spark growing interested in the impacts complacency can have for us. If being at your best in career, business or life is one of your priorities, then you will find it hard to put this book down unless you start implementing some of his suggestions right away in order to improve your life immediately! From the outset, Hassan outlines the concept of success as being an innate human ability programmed into our DNA. This launching point sets up the parameters for what is to come. Hassan frames the aspects of behaviour that drive our success, he reasons envy and jealousy as natural processes, and in doing so, disarms anyone experiencing these emotions as you flick through the pages ahead. His wisdom as a thinker comes to the forefront through the assertion that complacency essentially hinders our path to success. Happiness is elusive, he says, and contentment lulls people into achieving less than they can achieve. Younes champions the importance of making change to avoid such stagnation. Innovation of the mind, spirit and thought, force people to grow; and mental inertia is very much a real thing. Pay attention to the company that you keep, drink up the wisdom shared in the following chapters, as surely when you reflect upon these, as they may well save you from a death of sorts by the real threat that is complacency. Since you have picked up this book or perhaps it has found its way into your hands by chance, it probably is the right book for you to read right now. Whether in life or business, the constructs Hassan Younes explores are as relevant to both. Yet, when we look at the slim success rates businesses face these days, this book may hold the insights that can make the difference between make or break of the later. Understanding just how undermining and dangerous complacency can be to us in all areas of our lives means that moving forward we can be aware, take preventative steps and employ strategies to by-pass the potential threats of complacency. You will uncover why we all need to do this in these pages.

"Rebuild the House of Wisdom" is an esoteric call to action, a callback to creative efforts that grew around the turn of the last millennium in the Middle East, which eventually spread knowledge of mathematics and Eastern philosophies across the globe. Complacency Kills gathers art and writing in juxtaposition, recalling a romantic era that only really exists in translation between our imaginations. Conjuring an abstract vision that crosses mediums and platforms, this print adds physical intrigue to the idea of The House of Wisdom. It exists to encourage creative collaborations across mediums, create conversations between enemies, and to forge new connections between writers and artists.

The US natural gas pipeline infrastructure is under attack. That's what Bob McKenna, a 20-year veteran accident investigator concludes in his analysis of 20 accidents. Unconvinced, the federal authorities and natural gas pipeline management companies believe the accidents are unforeseen catastrophes. Bob understands his evidence is circumstantial replete with conjecture and extrapolations. But, that's the point. Could the accidents be attributed to cyber terrorism, eco-terrorism, cyber warfare, hacking, revenge, or a pipeline competitor? Bob enlists the support from a Silicon Valley technology investigative firm, Ockham's Razor. Their investigation uncovers a sinister plot to destroy the nations' natural gas infrastructure.

United States Marines will continue to face enormous challenges in responding to crises across a wide spectrum of conflicts ranging from Humanitarian assistance to war. Although the Marine Corps trains successfully for war at the high end of the spectrum, it needs to improve on its preparations for military operations other than war (MOOTW). Many leaders fear that the nontraditional roles that these operations require marines to take will degrade their ability to perform their primary mission-to fight and win our nation's battles. The skills needed for conducting MOOTW should not be looked at separately, but rather complimentarily to combat skills. Although the Marine Corps' focus should remain on separately, but rather complimentarily to combat skills. Although the Marine Corps' focus should remain on developing combat readiness, it must do more to properly prepare for future MOOTW. This treatise identifies a number of recommendations that the Marine Corps should take in achieving this goal. They include: standardization cultural awareness training; expanding the Marine Corps foreign language program; improving simulation training; publishing a MOOTW Manual; publishing a quarterly MOOTW magazine targeted toward NCOS; publishing a MOOTW Staff training course; implementing a MOOTW Marine Corps Combat Readiness Evaluation; improving/constructing urban/MOOTW training facilities; and conducting MOOTW operational readiness exercises.
