Well-planned, properly scheduled, and effectively communicated jobs accomplish more work, more efficiently, and at a lower cost. This work will disturb operations less frequently, and be accomplished with higher quality, greater job satisfaction, and higher organizational morale than jobs performed without proper preparation. Maintenance Planning, Scheduling Coordination focuses on and deals specifically with the preparatory tasks that lead to effective utilization and application of maintenance resources. It is a vital training document for planners, an educational document for those to whom planners are responsible, and a valuable guide for those who interface with the planning and scheduling function and are dependent upon the many contributions of planning and scheduling operational excellence.

Lean Production For Competitive Advantage written by John Nicholas and has been published by CRC Press this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2015-10-08 with Business & Economics categories.
The Lean concepts and principles described in this book have revolutionized manufacturing practice and business conduct in a manner similar to what Henry Ford’s system did for mass manufacturing. Lean production however, involves much more than the adoption of methods and procedures, it requires a change in management philosophy that emphasizes relationship building, trust, and responsibility being conferred to frontline workers and suppliers. Based on three decades of teaching experience, Lean Production for a Competitive Advantage: A Comprehensive Guide to Lean Methodologies and Management Practices introduces the Lean philosophy and illustrates the effective application of Lean tools with real-world case studies. From fundamental concepts to integrated planning and control in pull production and the supply chain, the text provides a complete introduction to Lean production. Coverage includes small batch production, setup reduction, pull production, preventive maintenance, standard operations, as well as synchronizing and scheduling lean operations. Detailing the key principles and practices of Lean production, the text also: Illustrates effective implementation techniques with case studies from a range of industries Includes questions and completed problems in each chapter Explains how to effectively partner with suppliers and employees to accomplish productivity goals Designed for students who have a basic foundation in production and operations management, the text provides a thorough understanding of the fundamental principles of Lean. It also offers practical know-how for implementing a culture of continuous improvement on the shop floor or in the office, creating a heightened sense of responsibility and pride in all stakeholders involved, and enhancing productivity and efficiency to improve the bottom line. Machinery Vibration Analysis and Predictive Maintenance provides a detailed examination of the detection, location and diagnosis of faults in rotating and reciprocating machinery using vibration analysis. The basics and underlying physics of vibration signals are first examined. The acquisition and processing of signals is then reviewed followed by a discussion of machinery fault diagnosis using vibration analysis. Hereafter the important issue of rectifying faults that have been identified using vibration analysis is covered. The book also covers the other techniques of predictive maintenance such as oil and particle analysis, ultrasound and infrared thermography. The latest approaches and equipment used together with the latest techniques in vibration analysis emerging from current research are also highlighted. - Understand the basics of vibration measurement - Apply vibration analysis for different machinery faults - Diagnose machinery-related problems with vibration analysis techniques

This IBM® RedpaperTM publication updated technical overview provides essential details about the data processing steps, message flows, and analytical models that power IBM Predictive Maintenance and Quality (PMQ) Version 2.0. The new version of PMQ builds on the first one, released in 2013, to help companies efficiently monitor and maintain production assets and improve their overall availability, utilization, and performance. It analyzes various types of data to detect failure patterns and poor quality parts earlier than traditional quality control methods, with the goal of reducing unscheduled asset downtime and improving quality metrics. Version 2.0 includes an improved method of interacting with the solution's analytic data store using an API from the new Analytics Solution Foundation, a reusable, configurable, and extensible component that supports a number of the solution's analytic functions. The new version also changes the calculation of profiles and KPIs, which is now done using orchestrations that are defined in XML. This updated technical overview provides details about these new orchestration definitions.

Bpm Everywhere written by Nathaniel Palmer and has been published by Future Strategies Inc. this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2019-10-23 with Business & Economics categories.
We are entering an entirely new phase of BPM – the era of “BPM Everywhere” or BPME. BPME represents the strategy for leveraging, not simply surviving but fully exploiting the wave of disruption facing every business over the next 5 years and beyond. Without question, one of the single most disruptive events in the last decade was the introduction of the smartphone. Consider for a moment how great of an impact this has had on the relationship between businesses and their customers. Not even the emergence of the Web and Internet-based “digital native” business models can compare with the level of intimacy now available with your customers. In the era of the Internet of Things where smart homes, appliances, cars, phones, virtually imaginable devices are all connected, BPM must, and will, be everywhere. As Peter Whibley discusses in “The Internet of Things Will Be Invisible,” by 2025 there are expected to be more than 26 billion or more connected devices. In the chapter “Digital Prescriptive Maintenance: Disrupting Manufacturing through IoT, Big Data, and Dynamic Case Management,” Dr. Setrag Khoshafian introduces the “4 Vs” of “thing” data, specifically “Volume, Velocity, Variety and Value.” From monitors and remote sensors, to appliances and vehicles, to tens of billions of other “things,” connected devices are generating meaningful and informative data that would easily overwhelm any human being, but collectively they present critical context about processes and the state of operations. “Big Data” has never been so large, nor presented such an acute role within enterprises and the processes that drive them. BPME as well as traditional BPM methods can already be found at the center of this. Its role will grow exponentially. Emergent factors such as process mining (see chapter “Mining the Swarm” by Keith Swenson, et al.) will be critical for uncovering engagement patterns and the need for process management platforms to coordinate interaction and control of smart devices. It is intelligent BPM that is expanding the window of what can be automated, by enabling adaptable automation. The mobile strategies in far too many organizations seem to be the building of apps that presume that customers will use their smartphones like mini laptops. This avoids the fact that we now have a level of intimacy with our customer we've never had before. As discussed in the chapter “BPM to Go – Supporting Business Processes in a Mobile and Sensing World,” our customers are carrying around a device that offers a range of capabilities unlike any laptop. A smartphone produces volumes of meaningful data about our customers (think about the “4Vs”) and is able to interact with that customer in ways that a laptop never can. The growing ubiquity of connectivity always within reach combined with new services and capabilities such as mobile banking is a key part of driving constantly-changing expectations. Yet digital disruption is not limited to mobile devices, and is in fact disrupting everywhere BPM is otherwise found, and why BPM everywhere is becoming the new normal.
