A set in complex Euclidean space is called C-convex if all its intersections with complex lines are contractible, and it is said to be linearly convex if its complement is a union of complex hyperplanes. These notions are intermediates between ordinary geometric convexity and pseudoconvexity. Their importance was first manifested in the pioneering work of André Martineau from about forty years ago. Since then a large number of new related results have been obtained by many different mathematicians. The present book puts the modern theory of complex linear convexity on a solid footing, and gives a thorough and up-to-date survey of its current status. Applications include the Fantappié transformation of analytic functionals, integral representation formulas, polynomial interpolation, and solutions to linear partial differential equations.

Handbook Of Complex Analysis written by Steven G. Krantz and has been published by CRC Press this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2022-03-07 with Mathematics categories.
In spite of being nearly 500 years old, the subject of complex analysis is still today a vital and active part of mathematics. There are important applications in physics, engineering, and other aspects of technology. This Handbook presents contributed chapters by prominent mathematicians, including the new generation of researchers. More than a compilation of recent results, this book offers students an essential stepping-stone to gain an entry into the research life of complex analysis. Classes and seminars play a role in this process. More, though, is needed for further study. This Handbook will play that role. This book is also a reference and a source of inspiration for more seasoned mathematicians—both specialists in complex analysis and others who want to acquaint themselves with current modes of thought. The chapters in this volume are authored by leading experts and gifted expositors. They are carefully crafted presentations of diverse aspects of the field, formulated for a broad and diverse audience. This volume is a touchstone for current ideas in the broadly construed subject area of complex analysis. It should enrich the literature and point in some new directions.

D Modules Perverse Sheaves And Representation Theory written by Ryoshi Hotta and has been published by Springer Science & Business Media this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2007-11-07 with Mathematics categories.
D-modules continues to be an active area of stimulating research in such mathematical areas as algebraic, analysis, differential equations, and representation theory. Key to D-modules, Perverse Sheaves, and Representation Theory is the authors' essential algebraic-analytic approach to the theory, which connects D-modules to representation theory and other areas of mathematics. To further aid the reader, and to make the work as self-contained as possible, appendices are provided as background for the theory of derived categories and algebraic varieties. The book is intended to serve graduate students in a classroom setting and as self-study for researchers in algebraic geometry, representation theory.

Analysis Meets Geometry written by Mats Andersson and has been published by Birkhäuser this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2017-09-04 with Mathematics categories.
This book is dedicated to the memory of Mikael Passare, an outstanding Swedish mathematician who devoted his life to developing the theory of analytic functions in several complex variables and exploring geometric ideas first-hand. It includes several papers describing Mikael’s life as well as his contributions to mathematics, written by friends of Mikael’s who share his attitude and passion for science. A major section of the book presents original research articles that further develop Mikael’s ideas and which were written by his former students and co-authors. All these mathematicians work at the interface of analysis and geometry, and Mikael’s impact on their research cannot be underestimated. Most of the contributors were invited speakers at the conference organized at Stockholm University in his honor. This book is an attempt to express our gratitude towards this great mathematician, who left us full of energy and new creative mathematical ideas.

Hyponormal Quantization Of Planar Domains written by Björn Gustafsson and has been published by Springer this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2017-09-29 with Mathematics categories.
This book exploits the classification of a class of linear bounded operators with rank-one self-commutators in terms of their spectral parameter, known as the principal function. The resulting dictionary between two dimensional planar shapes with a degree of shade and Hilbert space operators turns out to be illuminating and beneficial for both sides. An exponential transform, essentially a Riesz potential at critical exponent, is at the heart of this novel framework; its best rational approximants unveil a new class of complex orthogonal polynomials whose asymptotic distribution of zeros is thoroughly studied in the text. Connections with areas of potential theory, approximation theory in the complex domain and fluid mechanics are established. The text is addressed, with specific aims, at experts and beginners in a wide range of areas of current interest: potential theory, numerical linear algebra, operator theory, inverse problems, image and signal processing, approximation theory, mathematical physics.

Torus Actions On Symplectic Manifolds written by Michèle Audin and has been published by Springer Science & Business Media this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2004-09-27 with Computers categories.
The material and references in this extended second edition of "The Topology of Torus Actions on Symplectic Manifolds", published as Volume 93 in this series in 1991, have been updated. Symplectic manifolds and torus actions are investigated, with numerous examples of torus actions, for instance on some moduli spaces. Although the book is still centered on convexity results, it contains much more material, in particular lots of new examples and exercises.

Isomorphisms Between H1 Spaces written by Paul F.X. Müller and has been published by Springer Science & Business Media this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2005-04-20 with Mathematics categories.
This book gives a thorough and self contained presentation of H1, its known isomorphic invariants and a complete classification of H1 on spaces of homogeneous type. The necessary background is developed from scratch. This includes a detailed discussion of the Haar system, together with the operators that can be built from it. Complete proofs are given for the classical martingale inequalities, and for large deviation inequalities. Complex interpolation is treated. Througout, special attention is given to the combinatorial methods developed in the field. An entire chapter is devoted to study the combinatorics of coloured dyadic Intervals.
