Know Go written by John Arundel and has been published by John Arundel this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2022-03-01 with Computers categories.

If you’re new to Go and generics, and wondering what all the fuss is about, this book is for you! If you have some experience with Go already, but want to learn about the new generics features, this book is also for you. And if you’ve been waiting impatiently for Go to just get generics and iterators already so you can use them, don’t worry: this book is for you too! You don’t need an advanced degree in computer science or tons of programming experience. Know Go explains what you need to know in plain, ordinary language, with simple examples that will show you what’s new, how the language changes will affect you, and exactly how to use generics in your own programs and packages. As you’d expect if you enjoyed my previous books, The Deeper Love of Go and The Power of Go: Tools, this is fun and easy reading, but it’s also packed with powerful ideas, concepts, and techniques that you can use in real-world applications. By reading through this book and completing the exercises, you'll learn: What we mean by generic programming in general, and specifically how that applies to Go What type parameters are, and how they’re different from interfaces How to declare and write generic functions, and when that's necessary (and when it's not) How generics are implemented in Go, and how that affects the way we write programs How to define and use constraints on type parameters, and what constraints are provided in the standard library and the Go language itself How to write type element and type approximation constraints, as well as understanding the changes to interfaces What operations are allowed on generic types, and how to choose the right constraints for them How to define and use generic container types such as slices and maps, and add methods to them How to use the new official cmp, slices, and maps packages, and how standard library APIs are changing Where generics are useful and what new kinds of programs and packages we can write using them What generics can’t do (at least in Go) and when it doesn’t make sense to use them What iterators are, and how to create and use them, along with the new iterator APIs in the standard library And more broadly, you’ll get a great understanding of what the introduction of generics and iterators mean for Go as a language and ecosystem, how it affects the standard library and third-party libraries, and how we’ll write programs differently as a result.

Music Inside Out written by John Rahn and has been published by Routledge this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2014-03-18 with Music categories.

John Rahn's prolific activities as a composer-theorist-teacher, inventor of computer sound-synthesis software, editor of Perspectives of New Music during the 1980s and 90s, and author of an exemplary text on atonal theory are conspicuously in the foreground of the academic music-intellectual world. This collection of essays charts Rahn's progression from the construal of music's data structures to the articulation of its experiential structures, leading to the question of its moral infrastructures and its value systems of the internal and external worlds. This book shows Rahn's remarkable intellectual evolution, culminating in the recognition that the pressure bearing on discourse can only be contained by thought formulated in the non-referential language of the arts themselves. Also includes 18 musical examples.

Squire Arden Complete written by Margaret Oliphant Wilson Oliphant and has been published by Library of Alexandria this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2020-09-28 with Fiction categories.

She was a tidy fresh old woman, with cheeks of a russet colour, half brown half red, yet soft, despite all their wrinkles—cheeks that children laid their little faces up to without feeling any difference of texture; and eyes which had stolen back during these years deeper into their sockets, but yet were bright and full of suppressed sunshine. She had a little shawl pinned over her print gown, and a great white apron, which shone in the sun, and made the chief light in the little picture. Simon’s rugged countenance looking at her was all brown, with a deep dusky red on the tops of the cheekbones; his face was as full of cross-hatching as if he had been an old print. His eyes were deeper than were hers, but still at the bottom of the wrinkled caves they abode in had a spark of light in each of them. In short, there was sufficient resemblance between them still to show that Simon and Sarah were brother and sister. A young woman of four and twenty came to the door of the next cottage at the sound of his voice, and opening it, went in again, as if her duty was done. She was Simon’s daughter and housekeeper, who was not fond of gossip, and the two kindred households were next door to each other. It was a very pretty village, much encouraged to keep itself tidy, and to cultivate flowers, and do everything that is proper in its condition of life, by the young lady at the Hall. The houses had been improved, but in an unobtrusive way. They were not painfully white-washed, but showed here and there a gleam of red brick in a thin place. The roses and the honeysuckles were not always neatly trained, and there was even an old shawl thrust into a broken pane in the window of Sally Timms, who was so much trouble to Miss Arden with her untidy ways. Old Simon had nothing but wallflower and southernwood (which was called lad’s love in that region), and red and white daisies in his garden. But next door, if you came at the proper season, you might see picottees that were exhibited at the Holmfirth flower show, and floury auriculas, such as were the height of the fashion in the floral world a good many years ago. In short there was just that mixture of perfection and imperfection which kept the village of Arden a natural spontaneous village, instead of an artificial piece of luxury, cultivated like any other ornament, in consequence of the very close vicinity of the Hall gates.
