Este libro está dirigido a profesionales de la lengua española interesados, sobre todo, en el Análisis del discurso, así como a cualquier hablante preocupado por conocer las herramientas que posibilitarán que su escritura sea lo más eficaz posible para los propósitos pretendidos. Los conectores son un tipo de señales o marcas que el hablante utiliza para organizar su discurso y para dirigir el proceso interpretativo de su interlocutor, poniendo en relación argumentos y conclusiones y persuadiéndolo del acierto de su intención argumentativa. Desde esta perspectiva, se estudia cómo la forma lingüística influye directamente en la manera en que los hablantes procesan e interpretan los enunciados. De los diversos géneros que se recogen bajo la etiqueta de texto argumentativo, se ha seleccionado el género de las cartas que escriben los lectores a los directores de los periódicos. Precisamente por hallarnos ante un discurso enormemente breve se impone la necesidad de explicitar claramente, en el menor espacio posible, cuáles son los argumentos que se defienden y cuáles los que se rebaten, de ahí que los conectores cobren un especial protagonismo.

En el trabajo se muestra el analisis de los recursos linguisticos discursivos como argumentos, deicticos y conectores utilizados en dos ensayos elaborados durante los tres primeros bimestres del 2008. Tambien se realiza una comparacion entre el escrito realizado por un experto y una estudiante, con el fin de identificar las caracteristicas basicas para la correcta escritura argumentativa. El analisis realizado mostro la relevancia que tiene dentro de la escritura de ensayos la utilizacion de determinados conectores argumentativos y contra-argumentativos dentro del texto argumentativo y permitio evaluar la coherencia con que se desarrollan los argumentos y su potencialidad dentro de la argumentacion. Por ello, es importante discriminar su uso y adecuacion en el discurso. Tambien es importante destacar que la solicitud de escritos en el colegio, sin implicacion personal, puede distanciar a los estudiantes, en algunos momentos, de sus argumentos; lo cual en un genero como el ensayistico, alejaria al escritor de la principal caracteristica de este genero: El tono personal."

Annotation. Este estudio investiga la relación entre los marcadores del discurso y la cortesía verbal, dos categorías de la pragmática muy estudiadas y, sin embargo, todavía de perfil indefinido. De hecho, los marcadores son un asunto delicado por sus dimensiones operativas múltiples; en la misma línea se encuentra la cortesía verbal con nociones de confines borrosos (como proximidad, intensidad, etc.). Este libro aboga por describir sus dinámicas con el fin de poner de relieve su gran rentabilidad comunicativa. Ofrece una exposición razonada del estado del arte, tanto de los estudios sobre la cortesía verbal en el español peninsular, como de los marcadores del discurso (con especial atención a un enfoque relacional). Además, aborda cuestiones definitorias que permiten llegar a la descripción y a la organización por funciones de unos setenta marcadores que, según los trabajos científicos revisados, el hablante puede utilizar con fines corteses.

Este estudio de los marcadores discursivos conversacionales profundiza en el conocimiento del uso de dichas partículas discursivas en conversaciones de español de hablantes nativos y no nativos. El análisis permite identificar las formas y funciones más frecuentes en las conversaciones de los nativos así como las carencias y dificultades en las de los extranjeros. Los resultados de la investigación facilitan la elaboración de una clasificación de los marcadores discursivos que ha servido como contenido para plantear una propuesta didáctica nueva. El resultado final del trabajo redefine el concepto de marcador discursivo para ELE; simplifica y adecua su clasificación; logra la elaboración de un corpus conversacional de ELE y crea un proyecto didáctico. Tanto el corpus como el proyecto didáctico suponen documentos lingüísticos y herramientas metodológicas valiosas para la investigación y la enseñanza de las lenguas extranjeras con especial atención al español.

This volume presents a reasoned study of the discourse connectives of attainment of the French language. For the most part, the studies on connectives are based on referentialist descriptive frameworks, which are sustained more or less explicitly on what we have called the general problem of causality, the epistemological foundation of a scientific paradigm which has been used for centuries but which, in our opinion, is now outdated. In the first place, we have submitted this old paradigm to critical debate, showing the limits of its scientific validity. Next, we have placed ourselves in a non-referentialist linguistic framework, the Theory of Argumentation in the Language-System, developed by the French linguist Oswald Ducrot, in which we have formulated a new descriptive proposal for discourse connectives, taking into account both the argumentative configuration and the polyphonic configuration of each of the discourse dynamics generated around a given connective. We have described the argumentative configuration in terms of semantic blocks, and the polyphonic configuration in terms of discourse algorithms, original and innovative heuristic instruments with which we attempt to stimulate a new approach to language more in line with the general scientific approaches of the 21st century, and with the new scientific paradigm which is currently valid.

The present volume is centered on the notional domain of additivity. Many linguistic phenomena are based on additivity (i.e. are incremental) and additive relations are a mechanism that underlies a wide array of text types. Specifically, the present volume is centered on the class of function words which have been labeled, among many others, Additive Focusing Modifiers (FMs). The chapters gathered in this volume deal with the syntactic, prosodic and pragmatic properties of Additive FMs and new lines of research on these items are pursued, including (i) the historical development of Additive FMs and the use of these forms in older stages of the European languages; (ii) the pragmatic and sociolinguistic properties of Additive FMs, in particular of the functions they play in discourse and their distribution in different language varieties; (iii) the processing of Additive FMs by adults, in particular by relying on reading experiments involving eye tracking and self-paced reading; (iv) the use of Additive FMs in language contact situations and (v) the acquisition of Additive FMs by different learner groups.
