Esta obra pretende realizar desde una perspectiva jurídica una aproximación a los elementos esenciales que caracterizan a nuestra Comunidad Autónoma como tal y que explican sus relaciones con otros entes territoriales. Para ello se aborda el análisis de sus signos identitarios, sus competencias, sus instituciones o su sistema de fuentes, sin olvidar los instrumentos que le permiten bien resolver sus conflictos con terceros, bien colaborar con ellos en beneficio mutuo. Aunque cada una de estas cuestiones ha sido objeto de estudio específico en profundidad por obras doctrinales de gran rigor, este trabajo quiere contribuir en menor medida al conocimiento de nuestra Comunidad Autónoma con una visión panorámica y actualizada de la misma, que pone el acento no sólo en su configuración estatutaria, sino también en las disposiciones autonómicas que la complementan y en las normas estatales con alguna incidencia para el Principado.
