Constraint-based reasoning is an important area of automated reasoning in artificial intelligence, with many applications. These include configuration and design problems, planning and scheduling, temporal and spatial reasoning, defeasible and causal reasoning, machine vision and language understanding, qualitative and diagnostic reasoning, and expert systems. Constraint-Based Reasoning presents current work in the field at several levels: theory, algorithms, languages, applications, and hardware. Constraint-based reasoning has connections to a wide variety of fields, including formal logic, graph theory, relational databases, combinatorial algorithms, operations research, neural networks, truth maintenance, and logic programming. The ideal of describing a problem domain in natural, declarative terms and then letting general deductive mechanisms synthesize individual solutions has to some extent been realized, and even embodied, in programming languages. A Perspective Of Constraint Based Reasoning written by Hans W. Guesgen and has been published by Lecture Notes in Artificial Intelligence this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 1992-06-10 with Computers categories.

Much of AI research is about problem-solving strategies, and several techniques have been crystalized. One such technique is constraint satisfaction or reasoning based on relations. Constraint-based reasoning is used to solve a wide field of problems, and recently constraint techniques have been incorporated into logic programming languages, yielding a whole new field of research and application: constraint logic programming. Constraint satisfaction techniques have become part of almost all introductory books on AI. This monograph is about constraint satisfaction. It differs from others in that it presents all approaches under a common, generalizing view: dynamic constraints. This new way of viewing constraints provides new insights about the different approaches, and forms a very practical basis for teaching constraint-based reasoning. A uniform view of the constraint world is also a good basis for constraint research. This text is not intended to be a self-contained textbook on constraint-based reasoning, but rather a coherent text on an interesting view of the field.

Fundamentals Of Computer Aided Engineering written by Benny Raphael and has been published by John Wiley & Sons this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2003-06-09 with Computers categories.

It is vital that today’s engineers work with computer-based tools and techniques. However, programming courses do not provide engineering students with the skills that are necessary to succeed in their professional career. Here, the authors propose a novel, practical approach that encompasses knowledge assimilation, decision-making capabilities and technical agility, together with concepts in computer-aided engineering that are independent of hardware and software technologies. This book: Outlines general concepts such as fundamental logic, definition of engineering tasks and computational complexity Covers numerous representation frameworks and reasoning strategies such as databases, objects, constraints, knowledge systems, search and optimisation, scientific computation and machine learning Features visualization and distribution of engineering information Presents a range of IT topics that are relevant to all branches of engineering Offers many practical engineering examples and exercises Fundamentals of Computer Aided Engineering provides support for all students involved in computer-aided engineering courses in civil, mechanical, chemical and environmental engineering. This book is also a useful reference for researchers, practising engineers using CAE and educators who wish to increase their knowledge of fundamental concepts.

Knowledge Management: Systems and Processes in the AI Era, Third Edition, is aimed at students and managers who seek detailed insights into contemporary knowledge management (KM). It explains the concepts, theories, and technologies that provide the foundation for knowledge management; the systems and structures that constitute KM solutions; and the processes for developing, deploying, and evaluating these KM solutions. This book serves as a complete introduction to the subject of knowledge management, incorporating technical and social aspects, as well as concepts, practical examples, traditional KM approaches, and emerging topics. This third edition has been revised and expanded to include more coverage of emergent trends such as cloud computing, online communities, crowdsourcing, and artificial intelligence. Aimed at advanced undergraduate, postgraduate, and MBA students who are seeking a comprehensive perspective on knowledge management, Knowledge Management is also complemented by online support for lecturers including suggested solutions to the many review questions and application exercises contained within the book.
