El presente proyecto docente y de investigación pretende esbozar algunas vías de aproximación al conocimiento de la disciplina que es la Arquitectura. En modo alguno pretende traducir un único método, de cuya inoperancia en este campo del conocimiento estamos firmemente convencidos. Más bien al contrario, quiere ser el contra método capaz de querer llevar a la reflexión al profesor y al alumno a propósito del proyecto de arquitectura y de la Arquitectura como realidad construida. El objetivo de la docencia no es otro que el de trasladar al alumno al lugar donde él es capaz de aprender por sí mismo. Ese lugar del conocimiento se construye con la razón y con los sentidos. Este proyecto docente se basa en los principios científicos y humanísticos que la Arquitectura debe tener. La dificultad de un proyecto docente de la Arquitectura estriba en la doble condición de realidad física y realidad mental que ésta tiene. Enseñamos y juzgamos con razonamientos que se basan en lo pretérito, ideas que aún están por construirse y que imaginamos realizadas a través de la interpretación de algunos documentos. Esta dificultad pedagógica es semejante a aquella que se encuentra el arquitecto para transmitir a los intérpretes materiales que han de ejecutar su obra proyectada. Así pues, la docencia es un camino que se inicia en la etapa escolar del alumnado, pero que no debe abandonarle durante el resto de su quehacer arquitectónico.
