Dalam bagian Pasal 15 ayat (1) UUJN-P ditegaskan bahwa Notaris atas permintaan para penghadap berwenang untuk ‘membuat akta yang (1) diperintahkan oleh peraturan perundang-undangan, atau yang (2) dikehendaki oleh para penghadap. Contoh-contoh akta ini merupakan sebagian kecil dan contoh-contoh akta yang diperintahkan oleh undang-undang atau peraturan perundang-undangan danyang dikendaki oleh para penghadap. Adapun dalam praktek masih banyak akta-akta yang dibuat karena permintaan para penghadap. Untuk pembuatan akta yang dikehendaki oleh para pihak/penghadap wajib memperhatikan Pasal 28 ayat (3)huruf c UUJN-P dan Pasal 1337 KUHPerdata, artinya tidak setiap kehendak para pihak/penghadap harus dikabulkan atau dipenuhi oleh Notaris,jika akta yang dihendakinya secara substansi melanggar atau bertentangan dengan Pasal 1337 KUHPerdata.

The VOC (Verenigde Oostindische Compagnie, the Dutch East India Company) was the largest of the early modern European trading companies operating in Asia. Its operations produced not only warehouses packed with spices, coffee, tea, textiles, porcelain and silk, but also shiploads of documents. Data on political, economic, cultural, religious, and social conditions spread over an enormous area circulated between the VOC establishments, the administrative centre of the trade in Batavia, now the city of Jakarta, and the Board of Directors in the Netherlands. The co-operation between the National Archives of Indonesia and the Netherlands resulted in this extensive catalogue of fifteen archives of VOC institutions in Jakarta. The VOC records are included in UNESCO ́s Memory of the World Register.

Hatta envisions a classless society in which every man is both worker and manager in his co-operative, and he sees capitalistic enterprises as only temporary necessities in Indonesia-to do those jobs too big for the small co-operatives but not large enough to be government projects. This work should prove to be thought-provoking for economists and all who are interested in Indonesia's future.

In American Foundations, Mark Dowie argues that organized philanthropy is on the verge of an evolutionary shift that will transform America's nearly 50,000 foundations from covert arbiters of knowledge and culture to overt mediators of public policy and aggressive creators of new orthodoxy. He questions the wisdom of placing so much power at the disposal of nondemocratic institutions. As American wealth expands, old foundations such as Ford, Carnegie, Rockefeller, Pew, and MacArthur have grown exponentially, while newer trusts such as Mott, Johnson, Packard, Kellogg, Hughes, Annenberg, Hewlett, Duke, and Gates have surpassed them. Foundation assets now total close to $400 billion. Though this is a tiny sum compared to corporate and government treasuries, and foundation grants still total less than 10 percent of contributions made by individuals, foundations have power and influence far beyond their wealth. Their influence derives from the conditional nature of their grant making, their power from its leverage. Unlike previous historians of philanthropy who have focused primarily on the grant maker, Dowie examines foundations from the public's perspective. He focuses on eight key areas in which foundations operate: education, science, health, environment, food, energy, art, and human services. He also looks at their imagination, or lack thereof, and at the strained relationship between American foundations and American democracy. Dowie believes that foundations deserve to exist and that they can assume an increasingly vital role in American society, but only if they transform themselves from private to essentially public institutions. The reforms he proposes to make foundations more responsive to pressing social problems and more accountable to the public will almost certainly start an important national debate.
