Scientific Essay from the year 2010 in the subject Economics - Foreign Trade Theory, Trade Policy, grade: 97.5%, Ottawa University, course: Multinational Business Policy, language: English, abstract: Stemming from the ongoing globalization, the process of global integration and international trade has accelerated ever since. Where back in the days the trade was more or less bounded to inter-regional trade with customers, partners and countries in close proximity, nowadays goods are shipped throughout the world, costs of transportation have decreased, time to market has increased and thus the needs and desires can be served almost instantly throughout the world particularly because of the continuous support of the WTO, where "a plethora of bilateral and regional trading and economic cooperation agreements have been mushrooming globally, and increasingly in the Asia-Pacific, generating a wave of "new regionalism" in Asia" (Sen; Srivastava 2009: 194). Concerned by the Asian financial crisis in 1997-1998, the ASEAN countries were under the impression of a slowdown in pace of trade liberalization and thus this put pressure on these countries to engage sustainably in mutual beneficial trade and economic integration. By that, "at a theoretical level regional economic integration is being taken to mean deepening of intra-regional trade, expansion of mutual foreign direct investment (FDI) and harmonization of commercial regulations, standards and practices." (Ekanayake; Veeramacheneni 2009: 2). This proceeding integration in ASEAN has mainly been motivated by the intention to create an attractive production base and to satisfy the rising competitive challenge on the part of China and India for both, domestic and foreign companies. (Hew; Sen 2004: 1-2). The impact especially of the ASEAN countries has raised over time, mainly in comparison to the OECD countries. "At the same time that developing Asia‟s share in ASEAN trade has been rising substantially (from about one-third t

This volume focuses on the crucial economic, political and legal aspects of global trading arrangements in the current transitional stage of the integration process. It provides an evaluation of the deepening and widening of the integration process, and places particular emphasis on the contentious issues which arise in the process of integrating previously unequal partners. Nations are contemplating taking part in various integration initiatives and schemes for a variety of purposes. They anticipate discernible improvements in the well-being of their citizens - that is, a rise in living standards resulting from closer economic integration. The international diverse group of authors begins by examining the general issues confronted by countries engaging in various levels of integration. They then go on to discuss theoretical and empirical studies of the implications of economic integration on welfare and public policy. It specifically addresses issues such as the impact on industry in participating countries and the effects of NAFTA on Mexico. This book will be welcomed by practitioners, academics and students interested in economic integration, international economics, political science and international business.

The General Agreement on Trade in Services (GATS) is a historical agreement covering a wide range of international service transactions. The underlying theme of this Guide is that competitive suppliers of all kinds of services, both from developing and developed economies, can expect to benefit directly from the more open trading regime of GATS which aims to reduce and eventually eliminate regulatory restrictions affecting the international supply of services. Users of services, including service businesses themselves, can also expect to gain from the greater variety of service products and prices offered by more companies around the world. The primary focus of the Guide is to inform the business community of the key features of the multilateral system of trade rules covering services. It seeks to improve understanding by the business community of the rights and benefits GATS confers and the obligations it imposes on them and their governments. It also identifies the main opportunities and challenges that may be encountered at the practical business level in the implementation of GATS rules and market access commitments.A new round of liberalisation negotiations will begin by the year 2000. It is hoped that the Guide will also be helpful to trade officials in developing countries and economies in transition as they develop their trade policies and prepare for the next round. In support of further trade negotiations, the Guide also highlights issues in which the business community may wish to provide input as preparations for trade negotiations move forward.Published jointly by the International Trade Centre UNCTAD/WTO (ITC) and the Commonwealth Secretariat.

Transition Trading written by Stephen Paul Blake and has been published by Xulon Press this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2009-09 with Business & Economics categories.

Stephen Paul Blake lives in Fruit Cove, outside Jacksonville, Florida and is the single Dad of Matthew and Austin. He has been blessed to receive the Eagle Scout and Vigil Honors from the Boy Scouts of America, along with Six Sigma Green Belt and Professional Engineering Registrations. Even after graduating from Duke Engineering, his life was still not always on an even keel, but then was a good moment to rededicate and begin to really grow in the Lord. With that faith his work brought him to the Carolinas, Upstate New York, and Florida. Stephen found construction project work to be steady, gaining the administrative, field, and managerial skills needed for senior responsibilities. Large projects that called for estimating and progress tracking spreadsheets became his specialty, as can be seen with a quick look through Transition Trading. After a generation of construction project involvement, he decided to incorporate Workplace Management Inc. to share his process and project management experience. It was during that time he was introduced to the modern trading and analytical software era. Success was fleeting, so after helping a couple of clients, he went back to the regular work force - the Job. This last employment made him "lie down in green pastures" in order to learn a new skill. Yet after experiencing many trading books, day trading restrictions, and poor options forecasts, his interest had waned. That apathy ended when Stephen discovered the ultimate in leverage and liquidity in the stock index futures class - the E-Mini. Months of honing the trading rules, developing the habits to follow them, and completing work assignments has led to the point where he can start helping others and sharing the Gospel - the Calling. No doubt God has been working in his life. Can He do the same for you?
