Excerpt from Agricultural Cooperation, Vol. 4: May 24, 1926 About nine per cent of the 1925 cotton crop was handled coopera tively. Reports received by the U. S. Department of griculture up to late in April indicate that the total business of 16 of the larger farm ers' cotton marketing associations will approximate a million and a half bales. As the crop was about bales, as indicated by the glfl ning reports, the actual per cent representing cooperative activity is slightly over 9 Per cent. This is the largest percentage of the total cotton crop ever handled cooperatively. The next best record is for the 1923 crop when per cent of the bales ginned was marketed through 14 cooperative associations.
