Sono lieta di accogliere nella Collana “Passato e presente” gli Atti del I Convegno di Studi, curati da Fiammetta Ricci, che il Centro di Ricerche di Iconologia, Simbolica politica e del Sacro di Teramo (C.R.I.S.I.S) ha organizzato su una tematica che, oltre ad essere particolarmente attuale nel panorama filosofico, si inserisce perfettamente nelle finalità del Centro per la filosofia italiana. E ricordo con piacere che l’animatore di un’iniziativa sul simbolico, che collega tra loro studiosi di varie università italiane realizzando una interessante rete attraverso cui il lavorio culturale si arricchisce, è proprio Giulio M. Chiodi, che presenta anche in questa sede un’interessante relazione. All’interno della riflessione sul simbolico per questo primo incontro, al quale si spera possano seguirne altri, C.R.I.S.I.S ha scelto il tema Corpo, politica e territorio. L’importanza di una riflessione sul tema è ben espressa dalle osservazioni di Domenica Mazzù quando nota che “il dibattito filosofico sul corpo diventa assolutamente decisivo e più che parlare di ‘fine’della filosofia, come si tende a fare in un mondo già di suo proteso a tutto consumare, c’è da pensare alla ‘fine’ del ‘confine’ della filosofia, a una espansione della riflessione filosofica e ai rischi di uno ‘sconfinamento’ che per un verso è inevitabile e per l’altro coglie alla sprovvista; intendiamo cogliere la filosofia sprovveduta degli strumento necessari”. Non credo, però, che la filosofia sia del tutto sprovveduta degli strumenti necessari. La raccolta di queste relazioni sembrerebbe avvalorare questa mia impressione perché dall’insieme degli interventi si desume che non solo è possibile fare una discussione filosofica, ma che gli strumenti a disposizione ci consentono di farla da più prospettive e con attenzione ai molteplici aspetti del problema. La ricchezza dei contributi non sta solo nella varietà degli aspetti toccati e delle prospettive individuate, ma soprattutto nell’impegno con cui gli intervenuti hanno affrontato il tema della corporeità evitando ogni facile banalizzazione e tracciando la strada per ulteriori sviluppi. L’ipotesi da cui muove la scelta di temi ed autori di questo percorso è quella di aprire esplorazioni ed incursioni nelle pieghe della cultura umana per cogliere le frizioni e le smagliature tra etica e politica in vista della possibilità, data o negata, di riconfigurare sé stessi e la cultura di cui ogni uomo è forza viva, mutante e trasfigurante. Un viaggio tra luoghi e stanze parallele, che a volte si svelano comunicanti, altre volte solo tracce di afone esistenze. Indagine della storia e tentativo di una ermeneutica politica non riduttivistica, che intercetti intimamente la concezione e la struttura antropologica a fondamento di una società e di una sua organizzazione politica. La sfida di fondo di questo lavoro è quella di ripensare il posto dell’uomo nell’ordine dei significati del corpo, e ricondurre la corporeità nell’ordine dei significati di una antropologia politica. Da questa ipotesi, viene proposto un itinerario che intercetta alcuni dualismi e fratture come nuclei di criticità da cui muovere e infiltrarsi nelle intersezioni simboliche tra piano etico e piano politico dell’esistenza.

This Handbook explores the history of mathematics under a series of themes which raise new questions about what mathematics has been and what it has meant to practise it.
