La lettura veloce può essere condensata in una sola frase, ma questo non cambia la realtà dei fatti. Se voglio andare in palestra perché voglio avere un corpo lavorato e l'istruttore mi mostra gli esercizi da fare in una sessione, questo non significa automaticamente che avrò un bell'aspetto. Una cosa è imparare la tecnica in pochi minuti e un'altra è esercitarsi ogni giorno. È necessario avere forza di volontà, disciplina e determinazione per ripetere quotidianamente gli esercizi di base. Senza uno sforzo costante non si possono ottenere risultati. Se si va in palestra tre volte alla settimana, si inizia a formare un'abitudine, che aiuta a vivere nella cultura dello sport. Essere connessi alle informazioni in quello sport e riuscire a generare così tanto entusiasmo da contrastare il desiderio di abbandonare la lotta e tornare alla propria zona di comfort. Ecco perché ho scritto sullo speed reading, per iniziare a vivere nella cultura di questo meraviglioso campo. La lettura veloce è dalla vostra parte. Con esso è possibile arrivare a superare la barriera delle 1000 parole al minuto. Ciò significa che sarete in grado di leggere quattro volte più velocemente di una persona media, con una comprensione del testo uguale o addirittura migliore.
