This volume sheds light on how lawyers have made sense of, engaged in, and shaped international politics over the past three hundred years. The Paris peace settlements following the First World War remain amongst the most controversial treaties in history. How is the world organized politically? How should it be organized? What forms of political organization are required to deal with such global challenges as climate change, terrorism, or nuclear proliferation?
