Juanita fondly recollects her memories of growing up in North Louisiana with her book Crawdads, Persimmons and Wildplums: Things I Want My Grandchildren to Know." She vividly recalls her growing up times in the wayback settlement of Lonehill, deep in Winn Parish. In her book, she reminisces about she and her siblings scouring the woods for the tasteful treats of such things as huckleberries, wildplums, wildgrapes, and muscadines, being frightened by a snake hungry for hen eggs, a red fox trying to grab a hen in the chickenhouse and being caught by her dads hunter trap, also community and school makedos of barely nothing, but being lovingly content and having fun. At her numerous book signings and other purchases by interested people, they are constantly saying that the book brings back such memories of growing up with parents, grandparents and the like, or those people told them about the book. All people have had experiences growing up and the books experiences may remind them of their own experiences. People like the book for their children and grandchildren because they grew up in a time when they knew nothing about such experiences. It is hoped the children will then appreciate more the things they do have. People like this book so much that they are buying it for their moms, pops, grandparents, children themselves, friends and relatives. Teachers are taking this book to school and reading it to their children. Young and old, black and white, everyone who tastes of its humor and delightful stories seem to like it.

This book is developed with a certain person in mind. This person feels like she missed her one opportunity. She feels like it passed her by and she wasn't ready for it. This person feels like it's too late for him to be the man that he envisioned himself being. This person needs to know and be reassured that it is never too late. And God is asking this person to allow Him to use her to her fullest potential. God wants to show someone that He has placed a purpose over their life. He wants to show his daughter that He's placed a gift within her and it needs to manifest itself. He wants to encourage His son that he didn't miss that opportunity. God wants to show his son that while he thought he missed his chance to be that great man, God was doing some things. Although it seems as though life is not on the road you may have planned it to be on, things are about to work out in your favor. God was just taking the time to straighten out and put the finishing touches on a new unfulfilled purpose specifically for you. This is a piece of encouragement written to give hope, to give strength, to give reassurance, to inspire, to challenge, and to bless. Through the love and inspiration of Jesus Christ, this book was written from the heart. It was a test that has manifested into a true testimony; a part of a purpose soon to be fulfilled.

The Ghosts Of Evolution written by Connie Barlow and has been published by Hachette UK this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2008-08-05 with Science categories.

A new vision is sweeping through ecological science: The dense web of dependencies that makes up an ecosystem has gained an added dimension-the dimension of time. Every field, forest, and park is full of living organisms adapted for relationships with creatures that are now extinct. In a vivid narrative, Connie Barlow shows how the idea of "missing partners" in nature evolved from isolated, curious examples into an idea that is transforming how ecologists understand the entire flora and fauna of the Americas. This fascinating book will enrich and deepen the experience of anyone who enjoys a stroll through the woods or even down an urban sidewalk. But this knowledge has a dark side too: Barlow's "ghost stories" teach us that the ripples of biodiversity loss around us now are just the leading edge of what may well become perilous cascades of extinction.
