This volume provides new insights on creativity while focusing on innovative methodological approaches in research and practice of integrating technological tools and environments in mathematics teaching and learning. This work is being built on the discussions at the mini-symposium on Creativity and Technology at the International Conference on Mathematical Creativity and Giftedness (ICMCG) in Denver, USA (2014), and other contributions to the topic. The book emphasizes a diversity of views, a variety of contexts, angles and cultures of thought, as well as mathematical and educational practices. The authors of each chapter explore the potential of technology to foster creative and divergent mathematical thinking, problem solving and problem posing, creative use of dynamic, multimodal and interactive software by teachers and learners, as well as other digital media and tools while widening and enriching transdisciplinary and interdisciplinary connections in mathematics classroom. Along with ground-breaking innovative approaches, the book aims to provide researchers and practitioners with new paths for diversification of opportunities for all students to become more creative and innovative mathematics learners. A framework for dynamic learning conditions of leveraging mathematical creativity with technology is an outcome of the book as well.

Innovation And Technology Enhancing Mathematics Education written by Eleonora Faggiano and has been published by Springer this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2017-10-14 with Education categories.
This book addresses key issues of Technology and Innovation(s) in Mathematics Education, drawing on heterogeneous ways of positioning about innovation in mathematical practice with technology. The book offers ideas and meanings of innovation as they emerge from the entanglement of the various researchers with the mathematical practice, the teacher training program, the student learning and engagement, or the research method that they are telling stories about. The multiple theoretical or empirical perspectives capture a rich landscape, in which the presence of digital technology entails the emergence of new practices, techniques, environments and devices, or new ways of making sense of technology in research, teaching and learning.

Fostering Collateral Creativity In School Mathematics written by Sergei Abramovich and has been published by Springer Nature this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2023-10-03 with Education categories.
This book explores the topic of using technology, both physical and digital, to motivate creative mathematical thinking among students who are not considered ‘mathematically advanced.’ The book reflects the authors’ experience of teaching mathematics to Canadian and American teacher candidates and supervising several field-based activities by the candidates. It consists of eight chapters and an Appendix which includes details of constructing computational learning environments. Specifically, the book demonstrates how the appropriate use of technology in the teaching of mathematics can create conditions for the emergence of what may be called ‘collateral creativity,’ a notion similar to Dewey’s notion of collateral learning. Just as collateral learning does not result from the immediate goal of the traditional curriculum, collateral creativity does not result from the immediate goal of traditional problem solving. Rather, mathematical creativity emerges as a collateral outcome of thinking afforded by the use of technology. Furthermore, collateral creativity is an educative outcome of one’s learning experience with pedagogy that motivates students to ask questions about computer-generated or tactile-derived information and assists them in finding answers to their own or the teacher’s questions. This book intends to provide guidance to teachers for fostering collateral creativity in their classrooms.

Creativity of an Aha! Moment and Mathematics Education introduces bisociation, the theory of Aha! moment creativity into mathematics education. It establishes relationships between Koestler’s bisociation theory and constructivist learning theories. It lays down the basis for a new theory integrating creativity with learning to describe moments of insight at different levels of student development. The collection illuminates the creativity of the eureka experience in mathematics through different lenses of affect, cognition and conation, theory of attention and constructivist theories of learning, neuroscience and computer creativity. Since Aha! is a common human experience, the book proposes bisociation as the basis of creativity for all. It discusses how to facilitate and assess Aha! creativity in mathematics classrooms. Contributors are: William Baker, Stephen Campbell, Bronislaw Czarnocha, Olen Dias, Gerald Goldin, Peter Liljedahl, John Mason, Benjamin Rott, Edme Soho, Hector Soto, Hannes Stoppel, David Tall, Ron Tzur and Laurel Wolf.

This book explores the complex, yet critical, relationship between technology and creativity, specifically in educational contexts. Creativity is important for success in today’s rapidly changing, radically contingent and hyperconnected world. This is even more relevant in the context of teaching and learning—where the psychological, sociological and cultural aspects of human learning confront the challenges of a rapidly changing, technologically saturated world. Written by some of the foremost thinkers and researchers in the area of creativity and/or technology, the chapters in this volume examine the impact of recent and future technologies on creativity, teaching and learning. Individually and collectively, they help us develop an understanding of this nexus of creativity and technology for education. They offer new perspectives on this rapidly evolving future—exploring issues, paradoxes, tensions, and points of interest for creativity and technology. They position these issues in ways that consider implications for thinking, learning, teaching, and education in general.

This is the ninth time we are hosting this seminar and we are proud to inform you that this seminar is an annual event in our calendar and has been held every year since 2014. This year, for the third year, we are holding it via Zoom meeting (online meeting) due to Covid-19 pandemic. We are inviting internationally recognized speakers from several countries to share their latest discoveries in the fields of Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics and Science Education. Well-known researchers in science and science education will share their experiences and knowledge so that we can stay up-to-date with the latest information. This is one of the goals of this seminar. As science researchers, we realize the importance of information exchange among us. The new information enlightens our minds and gives us ideas on what to do next in our research and how to do it. This new information often becomes the foundation for our next project in particular and sets the research trends for the upcoming year in general. Information exchange also keeps us updated, allowing us to give and receive suggestions and critiques that will lead to better results. Therefore, we need a forum where we can share and exchange information. Seminars, conferences, and other scientific gatherings are the media through which we can do this.
