Molecular Crystals written by J. D. Wright and has been published by Cambridge University Press this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 1995 with Science categories.

There has been an explosion of interest in the study of molecular crystals, and their applications in optics and electronics. This advanced 1994 textbook describes their chemical and physical structure, their optical and electronic properties and the reactions between neighbouring molecules in crystals. The author has taken into account research areas which have undergone extremely rapid development since the first edition was published in 1987. For instance, this edition features the applications of molecular materials in high-technology devices. There is also an additional chapter on C60 and organic non-linear optic materials. The level of treatment is aimed at first-year postgraduates or workers in industrial research laboratories wishing to gain insights into organic solid state materials. Molecular Crystals is also suitable for special topics in final year undergraduate courses in chemistry, physics and electronic engineering.

Molecular Mixed Crystals written by Miquel Àngel Cuevas-Diarte and has been published by Springer Nature this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2021-05-22 with Science categories.

This book focuses on mixed crystals formed by molecular substances. The emphasis lies on the elucidation of the structural and thermodynamic properties of two-component systems. Thanks to the fact that the research efforts have been directed to a number of families of chemically coherent substances, rather than to a collection of isolated systems, the knowledge of mixed crystals has substantially increased. This is reflected by the discovery of several empirical relationships between thermodynamic properties, crystallographic properties, and also between thermodynamic mixing properties and exothermodynamic parameters, such as the structural mismatch between the components of the binary systems. This book is a benchmark for material scientists and a unique starting point for anyone interested in mixed crystals.

Crystal engineering is an interdisciplinary area that cuts across the traditional subdivisions of chemistry. Fuelled by our increasingly precise understanding of the chemistry and properties of supramolecular systems, interest in the potential of the field has increased rapidly. The topics discussed in the 28 contributions in this book provide a state-of-the-art description of the field and offer new research ideas that, if pursued, will serve to strengthen the field at the interface between supramolecular chemistry and materials science.

Organic And Inorganic Low Dimensional Crystalline Materials written by Pierre Delhaes and has been published by Springer Science & Business Media this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2013-12-01 with Science categories.

The research of unitary concepts in solid state and molecular chemistry is of current interest for both chemist and physicist communities. It is clear that due to their relative simplicity, low dimensional materials have attracted most of the attention. Thus, many non-trivial problems were solved in chain systems, giving some insight into the behavior of real systems which would otherwise be untractable. The NATO Advanced Research Workshop on "Organic and Inorganic Low-Dimensional Crystalline Materials" was organized to review the most striking electronic properties exhibited by organic and inorganic sytems whose space dimensionality ranges from zero (Od) to one (1d), and to discuss related scientific and technological potentials. The initial objectives of this Workshop were, respectively: i) To research unitary concepts in solid state physics, in particular for one dimensional compounds, ii) To reinforce, through a close coupling between theory and experiment, the interplay between organic and inorganic chemistry, on the one hand, and solid state physics on the other, iii) To get a salient understanding of new low-dimensional materials showing "exotic" physical properties, in conjunction with structural features.

The Crystalline States Of Organic Compounds written by Angelo Gavezzotti and has been published by Elsevier this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2021-11-25 with Science categories.

The Crystalline States of Organic Compounds is a broad survey of the techniques by which molecular crystals are investigated, modeled, and applied, starting with the fundamentals of intra- and intermolecular bonding supplemented by a concise tutorial on present-day diffraction methods, then proceeding to an examination of crystallographic databases with their statistics and of such fundamental and fast-growing topics as intermolecular potentials, polymorphism, co-crystallization, and crystal structure prediction by computer. A substantial part of the book is devoted to the techniques of choice in modern simulation, Monte Carlo and molecular dynamics, with their most recent developments and application to formed crystals and to the concomitant phases involved in nucleation and growth. Drawing on the decades-long experience of its author in teaching and research in the field of organic solid state, The Crystalline States of Organic Compounds is an indispensable source of key insights and future directions for students and researchers at any level, in academia and in industry. Condenses theoretical information and practical methods in a single resource Provides a guide on the use of crystallographic databases, structure statistics, and molecular simulations Includes a large number of worked examples and tutorials, with extensive graphics and multimedia
