This publication highlights the fast-moving technological advancement and infiltration of Artificial Intelligence into society. Concepts of evolution of society through interconnectivity are explored, together with how the fusion of human and technological interaction leading to Augmented Humanity is fast becoming more than just an endemic phase, but a cultural phase shift to digital societies. It aims to balance both the positive progressive outlooks such developments bring with potential issues that may stem from innovation of this kind, such as the invasive procedures of bio hacking or ethical connotations concerning the usage of digital twins. This publication will also give the reader a good level of understanding on fundamental cyber defence principles, interactions with Critical National Infrastructure (CNI) and the Command, Control, Communications and Intelligence (C3I) decision-making framework. A detailed view of the cyber-attack landscape will be garnered; touching on the tactics, techniques and procedures used, red and blue teaming initiatives, cyber resilience and the protection of larger scale systems. The integration of AI, smart societies, the human-centric approach and Augmented Humanity is discernible in the exponential growth, collection and use of [big] data; concepts woven throughout the diversity of topics covered in this publication; which also discusses the privacy and transparency of data ownership, and the potential dangers of exploitation through social media. As humans are become ever more interconnected, with the prolificacy of smart wearable devices and wearable body area networks, the availability of and abundance of user data and metadata derived from individuals has grown exponentially. The notion of data ownership, privacy and situational awareness are now at the forefront in this new age.

Hybrid Societies written by Piercosma Bisconti and has been published by Taylor & Francis this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2024-02-20 with Philosophy categories.

This book explores how social robots and synthetic social agents will change our social systems and intersubjective relationships. It is obvious that technology influences societies. But how, and under what conditions do these changes occur? This book provides a theoretical foundation for the social implications of artificial intelligence (AI) and robotics. It starts from philosophy of technology, with a focus on social robotics, to systematically explore the concept of socio- technical change. It addresses two main questions: To what extent will social robots modify our social systems? And how will human relationality be affected by human–robot interactions? The book employs resources from continental philosophy, actor–network theory, psychoanalysis, systemic theory, and constructivist cognitive theory to develop a theory of socio-technical change. It also offers a novel perspective on how we should evaluate the effectiveness of social robots, which has significant implications for how social robotics should be researched and designed. Hybrid Societies will appeal to scholars and advanced students working in philosophy of technology, AI ethics, robot ethics, and continental philosophy.

The integration of artificial intelligence (AI) into supply chain management has not only transformed the way businesses operate but also highlighted the interplay between ecological and human dimensions. On the ecological side, AI technologies optimize resource use, reduce waste, and minimize environmental impact through more efficient logistics and demand forecasting. The human dimension focuses on how AI affects labor, decision-making, and ethical considerations. As AI evolves, further exploration into a balance between sustainability and human well-being may ensure that its benefits are maximized while minimizing any negative consequences on the environment and society. Ecological and Human Dimensions of AI-Based Supply Chain explores innovations in the adoption and integration of responsible AI solutions in supply chains. It examines the ecological and social perspectives that drive supply chain technology and manufacturing improvements. This book covers topics such as circular economy, risk management, and sustainability, and is a useful resource for business owners, ecologists, computer engineers, academicians, data scientists, and researchers.

This book provides an opportunity for investigators, government officials, systems scientists, strategists, assurance researchers, owners, operators and maintainers of large, complex and advanced systems and infrastructures to update their knowledge with the state of best practice in the challenging domains whilst networking with the leading representatives, researchers and solution providers. Drawing on 12 years of successful events on information security, digital forensics and cyber-crime, the 13th ICGS3-20 conference aims to provide attendees with an information-packed agenda with representatives from across the industry and the globe. The challenges of complexity, rapid pace of change and risk/opportunity issues associated with modern products, systems, special events and infrastructures. In an era of unprecedented volatile, political and economic environment across the world, computer-based systems face ever more increasing challenges, disputes and responsibilities, and whilst the Internet has created a global platform for the exchange of ideas, goods and services, it has also created boundless opportunities for cyber-crime. As an increasing number of large organizations and individuals use the Internet and its satellite mobile technologies, they are increasingly vulnerable to cyber-crime threats. It is therefore paramount that the security industry raises its game to combat these threats. Whilst there is a huge adoption of technology and smart home devices, comparably, there is a rise of threat vector in the abuse of the technology in domestic violence inflicted through IoT too. All these are an issue of global importance as law enforcement agencies all over the world are struggling to cope.

The Relational Governance Of Artificial Intelligence written by Sabine Wiesmüller and has been published by Springer Nature this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2023-02-03 with Business & Economics categories.

This book addresses the development and adoption of artificial intelligence (AI) in and by companies and the consequent need for private sector AI regulation. Highlighting the challenges to responsible business conduct and considering stakeholder interests, it identifies ethical concerns and discusses AI standards and AI norms. Based on this needs-based analysis, the author chooses relational economics as a suitable approach to develop a theoretical AI governance model. In doing so, AI is conceptualized within relational economics in the form of an autopoietic system. Building on this theoretical contribution, the book specifies the governance adaptivity of the relational AI governance approach for an unregulated AI market and for the case of the pending E.U. AI regulation, and complements it with inductively conducted categories that summarize the main research streams in AI ethics.

Information Technology Security And Risk Management written by Stephen C. Wingreen and has been published by CRC Press this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2024-05-16 with Business & Economics categories.

Information Technology Security and Risk Management: Inductive Cases for Information Security is a compilation of cases that examine recent developments and issues that are relevant to IT security managers, risk assessment and management, and the broader topic of IT security in the 21st century. As the title indicates, the cases are written and analyzed inductively, which is to say that the authors allowed the cases to speak for themselves, and lead where they would, rather than approach the cases with presuppositions or assumptions regarding what the case should be "about". In other words, the authors were given broad discretion to interpret a case in the most interesting and relevant manner possible; any given case may be "about" many things, depending on the perspective adopted by the reader, and many different lessons may be learned. The inductive approach of these cases reflects the design philosophy of the advanced IT Security and Risk Management course we teach on the topic here at the University of Canterbury, where all discussions begin with the analysis of a specific case of interest and follow the most interesting and salient aspects of the case in evidence. In our course, the presentation, analysis, and discussion of a case are followed by a brief lecture to address the conceptual, theoretical, and scholarly dimensions arising from the case. The inductive approach to teaching and learning also comes with a huge advantage – the students seem to love it, and often express their appreciation for a fresh and engaging approach to learning the sometimes-highly-technical content of an IT security course. As instructors, we are also grateful for the break in the typical scripted "chalk-and-talk" of a university lecture afforded by the spontaneity of the inductive approach. We were motivated to prepare this text because there seems to be no other book of cases dedicated to the topic of IT security and risk management, and because of our own success and satisfaction with inductive teaching and learning. We believe this book would be useful either for an inductive, case-based course like our own or as a body of cases to be discussed in a more traditional course with a deductive approach. There are abstracts and keywords for each case, which would help instructors select cases for discussions on specific topics, and PowerPoint slides are available as a guide for discussion about a given case.
