When it comes to the unknown territory of having a baby, moms-to-be have nearly unending resources to plan and execute a healthy pregnancy and navigate those first months and years as a parent with confidence. New dads? Not so much. They want to get in the game too, but, says Super Bowl champion Benjamin Watson, "I could find clearer direction for putting together a baby swing than for taking care of a newborn child." The New Dad's Playbook is every man's game plan to being the best partner and the best father, from pre-season (preparing for fatherhood) to Super Bowl (birth) to post-season (after baby is home). It helps men understand what their wives are going through physically and emotionally during and after pregnancy, allowing them to support their most important teammate. It tells men what to expect when their baby is home--and what to do when the unexpected happens. This tell-it-like-it-is book will take men from just winging it to winning it.

Becoming a dad is easy - take two invested souls, join them, and-poof!-a child is born. But becoming a good dad-that's a different matter altogether. When the child is born, the doctor doesn't say, "Congratulations, and here is the manual to raise this child successfully." No, we are sent into the world with a newborn and expected to become a responsible parent. And ... what is a responsible parent? That's an age-old question that humanity has tried to answer from the beginning of time. It takes a community of voices sending wisdom across the ages to help parents to navigate the challenges of child-rearing. The Good Dad's Playbook is part of the wisdom for the ages. The Good Dad's Playbook presents 12 insights for effective parenting. It challenges fathers to guide the lives of their children just as a master builder constructs an edifice that transcends generations. The core inspirational messages of The Good Dad's Playbook are designed to: -Establish a closer bond between father and child-Aid in the understanding of a child's natural development-Promote healthy self-esteem within your child-Imprint within children the need to build a legacy that impacts generations-Navigate the age progression from child through young adult-Develop an attitude and aptitude for promoting the concepts of giving and serving-Focus on building a significant and love-based relationship with your wife-Provide tips on financial management to secure the family and their future-Promote advanced education directed toward leadership-Help you understand the need to spend quality time with your family-Develop sound values that can be passed on generationally-Build a foundation that includes God, prayer and mutual respect for one another The Good Dad's Playbook was written for dads by a dad. The author, Wesley Brandon, is a successful small-business owner, Harvard MBA and President of a Silicon Valley company that has had an impact on the American landscape. He provides practical insights and openly discusses how he has used these insights to raise a thriving family. The Good Dad's Playbook is not a typical "how-to book." It rather challenges the traditional aspects of fatherhood, in which a man is seen as a provider and protector, exempting him from all other aspects of child-rearing. Wesley Brandon places the father as the cornerstone of the family, the foundation upon which everything else can be successfully built. As the foundation, the father has the ultimate responsibility to develop his children into successful, responsible citizens who are committed to providing the most value and service to society. Within the brilliant pages of The Good Dad's Playbook, Wesley Brandon outlines strategies built on strong, godly concepts to ensure ultimate success. The Good Dad's Playbook is for: -Any dad who wants to be a better dad-Any dad who currently feels that he needs to improve his relationship with his family-Any dad who is looking for a great resource to positively impact his family-Any wife who wants to inspire her husband to become a better leader.

A Dude's Guide to Babies: The New Dad's Playbook is a fun user's manual for every dude who's sweating all the small and big stuff about bringing up his little dude or dudette. With seven children between them (and wives who helped somewhere in there) Richard Jones and Barry Robert Ozer share straight talk, practical advice, and personal experiences (their own and those of other dads) to ease the stress about cleaning, feeding, and playing with your newborn, as well as keeping him or her safe, happy, and not in need of too much therapy. This guide reveals what to do in the delivery room (Houston, We Have Splashdown), how to baby-proof your home without going over-the-top, the inside scoop on poop, questions to ask the doctor for a well-child visit, and it also includes Pop's Quizzes so dudes can test their Dad-fu (think Kung-fu only with more diapers and fewer mystical quests). The funny, short chapters will keep new Dads interested as well as allow them time to catch a few minutes of the game before the baby wakes up. This is the must-have book that tells what to really expect after all those months of expecting...and how to thrive (and not just survive) as a new dad.
