It’s the most wonderful time of the year… so they say... Essentially-English, almost-certainly quirky, and definitely a little crazy, come and meet our feisty R.E.D. (Retired Extremely Daisy) heroine, and find out why she’s such a hit with readers! “One of the best cozy mysteries I’ve ever read!” “A real breath of fresh literary air!” Celia, Jack, Sarah and Rob are enjoying Christmas Eve supper at Fern Cottage with Daisy and Aidan. It’s a lovely evening... until just before midnight when Santa drops in. His appearance is a little unexpected, to say the least. Aidan is forced to eat his earlier words that “this time they’d made it as far as Christmas Eve without anything unusual happening”... but they don’t realise just how much of a feast he’s made for himself until Christmas morning dawns. A worrying discovery tells the Henderson Detective Agency their particular Santa definitely wasn’t so much into the holiday spirit! As events unfold faster than Christmas itself, it becomes clearer still that Santa and his band of little helpers are anything but jolly. Quite the opposite in fact... Daisy’s second Christmas special, ‘Here Comes Santa Claus’ is a scarily-funny festive romp, perfect to read in a quiet moment amidst all the loud ones! Read all about Daisy, Sandie, and everything else we do on the spectacular new rtgreen website. And enjoy!

God rest ye merry gentlemen... twice! A spooky Christmas adventure for Daisy and crew. Come and meet our feisty R.E.D. heroine, and find out why she’s such a hit with readers! “One of the best cozy mystery series I’ve ever read!” Jack’s parents invite Celia, Daisy and Aidan to spend Christmas with them in the old manor house in Suffolk they’ve just bought. Daisy’s house is still being renovated, and their daughter’s undergoing a lot of work, so a few days away from it all sounds like a relaxing festive break. They don’t realise until after they’ve accepted the invitation that the remote manor is a lot older than the one Celia inherited, and that it needs just as much work as hers does. Or more to the point, that it has a reputation in the nearby village of being seriously haunted. Daisy has no time for the paranormal... but shortly after they arrive, some strange goings-on do their best to spook her into changing her mind. Still she refuses to accept there’s another side to reality, but then things take a darker turn. Someone is murdered. And then murdered again... ‘Check out the whole Daisy series on the new rtgreen website. And read all about our series, ‘The Sandie Shaw Mysteries’... page-turning 1920’s murder mysteries! Enjoy!

A Cowboy Detective written by Charles A. Siringo and has been published by U of Nebraska Press this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 1988-01-01 with History categories.

After years of cowboying, Charles A. Siringo had settled down to store-keeping in Caldwell, Kansas, when a blind phrenologist, traveling through, took the measure of his "mule head" and told him that he was "cut out" for detective work. Thereupon, Siringo joined the Pinkerton National Detective Agency in 1886. A Cowboy Detective chronicles his twenty-two years as an undercover operative in wilder parts of the West, where he rode with the lawless, using more stratagems and guises than Sherlock Holmes to bring them to justice and escaping violent death more often than Dick Tracy. He survived the labor riots at Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, in 1892 (his testimony helped convict eighteen union leaders), hounded moonshiners in the Appalachians, and chased Butch Cassidy's Wild Bunch. Once described as "a small wiry man, cold and steady as a rock" and "born without fear," Charlie Siringo became a favorite of high-ups in the Pinkerton organization. Nevertheless, the Pinkertons, ever sensitive to criticism, went to court to block publication of Siringo's book. Frank Morn, in his introduction to this Bison Books edition, discusses the changes that resulted from two years of litigation. Finally published in 1912 without Pinkerton in the title or the text, A Cowboy Detective has Siringo working for the "Dickensen Detective Agency" and meeting up with the likes of "Tim Corn," whom every western buff will recognize. The deeper truth of Siringo's book remains. As J. Frank Dobie wrote, "His cowboys and gunmen were not of Hollywood and folklore. He was an honest reporter.

Interstellar, from acclaimed filmmaker Christopher Nolan, takes us on a fantastic voyage far beyond our solar system. Yet in The Science of Interstellar, Kip Thorne, the Nobel prize-winning physicist who assisted Nolan on the scientific aspects of Interstellar, shows us that the movie’s jaw-dropping events and stunning, never-before-attempted visuals are grounded in real science. Thorne shares his experiences working as the science adviser on the film and then moves on to the science itself. In chapters on wormholes, black holes, interstellar travel, and much more, Thorne’s scientific insights—many of them triggered during the actual scripting and shooting of Interstellar—describe the physical laws that govern our universe and the truly astounding phenomena that those laws make possible. Then along came Carrot, an orange tabby kitten born as a stray, who appeared just as Erin Merryn and her young girls Abby, Hannah, and baby Claire were mending their broken hearts. Written in the voice of Carrot, follow her remarkable journey from shelter cat to top Instagram celebrity feline. Much like Bailey did, she loves spending time with her human family: making mischief with her girl gang; going joyriding in a pint-sized pink Barbie Jeep; doing arts-and-crafts projects; modeling a pink tutu and flowery headband; enjoying a spa day complete with fluffy robe and cucumber eye treatments; celebrating Christmas, Easter, and every holiday in between. It’s no wonder that Carrot’s videos have gone viral—garnering millions of views on Ellen, the Dodo, Good Morning America, Access Hollywood, People, and many more. Combining a unique blend of "The Sage of Omaha's" business savvy, life story and philosophy, The Snowball is essential reading for anyone wishing to discover and replicate the secrets of his business and life success. Warren Buffett is arguably the world's greatest investor. Even as a child he was fascinated by the concept of risk and probability, setting up his first business at the age of six. Despite an estimated net worth of around US$62 billion, Buffett leads an intriguingly frugal life taking home a salary of only £50,000 a year. His only indulgence is a private jet, an extravagance he wryly acknowledges by calling it "The Indefensible". In 2006, he made the largest charitable donation on record, with most of it going to the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. The Snowball provides a comprehensive, richly detailed insight one of the world's most extraordinary and much loved public figures.

The aptly named Crystal Haven is the destination for tourists seeking psychics, séances, and the promise of contacting the spirit world. In this small western Michigan town, everyone knows the Fortune family. Rose is gifted with tarot card readings. Her sister, Vi, is a self-proclaimed pet psychic. And Rose’s daughter Clyde is… A cop. A cop on leave from Ann Arbor, more specifically, who’s come home to kooky Crystal Haven to reevaluate her life. Mom and Aunt Vi can’t wait for Clyde to finally embrace her own psychic gifts and join the family business. Clyde would prefer the low-stress lifestyle of a dog walker and the low-key company of her nephew, Seth. But when a local psychic is killed, leaving behind a traumatized Shih Tzu, it seems to be in the cards for Clyde to get involved. With her old flame Mac leading the investigation, that may prove awkward. Whether she uses her skills as a cop or her long-denied psychic abilities, it’s up to Clyde to divine a killer’s identity before someone else suffers more misfortune.
