Excerpt from Das Alte Clarinblasen auf Trompeten Nachstehende kleine Schrift bildet eine Erganzung zu dem im Jahre 1881 im gleichen Verlage erschienenen Buche des Verfassers die Trompete in alter und neuer Zeit Das Thema, welches dort im Rahmen einer musikgeschiehtlich akustisch-praktischen Erlauterung der Trompete naturlich nicht eingehend behandelt werden konnte, ist hier erschopfend dargestellt, wobei eine grosse Menge dem Verfasser damals noch nicht bekannter Litteratur, Quellen und Belege, sowie neugewonnene praktische Erfahrungen berucksichtigt werden konnten. Das erzielte Resultat halte ich fur unumstosslich und glaube der Musikwissensehaft dureh Veroﬂ'entlichung einen wirklichen, wenn auch in Anbetracht der Kleinheit des Gegenstandes, nicht eben grossen Dienst zu leisten. Iminer ist es gut, wenn alte unbegrundete Vorurtheile zer stort und der Entstehung unrichtiger und unhaltbarer An sichten uber einen Punkt der Kunst Riegel vorgeschoben werden.
