Die Komposition nimmt eine zentrale Position in der Wortbildung (nicht nur) der germanischen Sprachen ein und gilt insbesondere im Deutschen als hochproduktives Wortbildungsmuster. Trotz der Fülle an Literatur zur Komposition im Allgemeinen stellt jedoch eine umfassende Auseinandersetzung und Darstellung der Komposition im Deutschen in der aktuellen Forschung ein Desiderat dar, auch innerhalb der deutschsprachigen Germanistik. Im Anschluss an frühere Untersuchungen ergeben sich heute aus einzel- und übereinzelsprachlicher Perspektive neue Untersuchungsaspekte, die nicht zuletzt auch aus aktuellen methodologischen Untersuchungsmöglichkeiten und Fragestellungen erwachsen, beispielsweise im Bereich der Korpuslinguistik und der Psycholinguistik. Der Band nimmt die Komposition im Deutschen aus unterschiedlichen Perspektiven in den Blick und möchte so dazu beitragen, diese Lücke füllen. Die Beiträge diskutieren sowohl Fragen, die sich aus einer innersprachlichen, strukturellen Perspektive ergeben, als auch weitergehende, systembezogene Aspekte der Komposition im Deutschen. Dazu gehören u.a. die Abgrenzung der Komposition von anderen Wortbildungsprozessen und von syntaktischen Prozessen, Überlegungen zur Struktur und Interpretation der zugrunde liegenden morphologischen Einheiten und ihrer Repräsentation im mentalen Lexikon sowie auch die graphematische Dimension der Kompositionsforschung und Fragen, die sich aus aktuellen Entwicklungen auf dem Gebiet der Textlinguistik und Diskurstheorie ergeben.

Studienarbeit aus dem Jahr 2018 im Fachbereich Germanistik - Linguistik, Note: 2,3, Carl von Ossietzky Universität Oldenburg (Germanistik), Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: In der vorliegenden Arbeit soll es sich um das Kompositum drehen. Dabei wird vor allem dargelegt, dass eine Komposition nicht einfach eine willkürliche Zusammensetzung zweier Wörter zu einem neuen Wort darstellt, sondern bestimmten Regeln folgt. Ebenso gleicht nicht jede Zusammensetzung der anderen, sie spaltet sich viel mehr in differente Kompositatypen auf, die in der Sprachwissenschaft und deren Forschungsliteratur diskursfähig sind und nicht immer einheitlich benannt werden. Neben der Definition der wichtigsten Typen und Merkmale der Komposita, wird ein kleiner Exkurs zu der Produktivität und Transparenz der Komposita geboten. Somit steht die vorliegende Arbeit unter der Fragestellung, inwieweit sich Kompositatypen definitorisch voneinander unterscheiden lassen und wie sie hinsichtlich ihrer Produktivität zu bewerten sind. Als Einstieg wird ein kurzer Einblick in das Kompositum als allgemeines Wortbildungskonstrukt gewährt, woraufhin folgende Kompositatypen angeführt und analysiert werden: Das Determinativ-, Possessiv-, Rektions- und das Kopulativkompositum. Zusammengestellt wurde diese Auswahl aus dem Sammelsurium der im Literaturverzeichnis aufgeführten Forschungsliteratur, welches sich in ihren Aufführungen der Kompositatypen samt ihren Oberbegriffen durchaus unterscheidet. Auf diesen Einblick folgt der Exkurs in die Produktivität und Transparenz der Komposita. Thematisch abgeschlossen wird die Arbeit mit einem Fazit in dem ein Ausblick integriert ist. Deutsch gilt als die zehntgrößte Sprache der Welt, wird von circa 105 Millionen Menschen als Muttersprache gesprochen und somit als Medium der Kommunikation tagtäglich genutzt. Die Sprache im Allgemeinen entwickelt sich stetig weiter. Neben beispielsweise Neologismen oder der Übernahme von englischen Wörtern, also Anglizismen, gibt es ein weite

The papers in this volume focus on the dynamics of one specific cell in morphological paradigms – the genitive. The high amount of diachronic and synchronic variation in all Germanic languages makes the genitive a particularly interesting phenomenon since it allows us, for example, to examine comparable but slightly different diachronic pathways, the relation of synchronic and diachronic variation, and the interplay of linguistic levels (phonology, morphology, syntax, and semantics). The findings in this book enhance our understanding of the genitive not only by describing its properties, but also by discussing its demarcation from functional competitors and related grammatical items. Under-researched aspects of well-described languages as well as from lesser-known languages (Faroese, Frisian, Luxembourgish, Yiddish) are examined. The papers included are methodologically diverse and the topics covered range from morphology, syntax, and semantics to the influence of (normative) grammars and the perception and prestige of grammatical items.

Bachelorarbeit aus dem Jahr 2021 im Fachbereich Germanistik - Linguistik, Note: 1,0, Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: Das Phänomen der Erneuerung lässt sich auf der ganzen Welt sowie in unterschiedlichen Bereichen beobachten und das Prinzip dabei ist immer das gleiche; wird festgestellt, dass ein Gegenstand innovativer gestaltet werden kann, wird dieser produziert. Nach genau dem gleichen Prinzip funktioniert die Sprache. Die deutsche Sprache hat kein festes Inventar an Wörtern, welches Sprecher*innen des Deutschen erlernen müssen, um zu kommunizieren. Die Sprache ist ständig in Bewegung und entwickelt sich weiter, denn es kommen fortlaufend neue Wörter hinzu oder bestehende Wörter werden zu einem neuen, komplexen Wort kombiniert. Dieses komplexe Wort entspricht dann entweder der Bedeutung der beiden Bestandteile oder erhält eine Bedeutung, welche dem Wort, unabhängig von den Bedeutungen der beiden Bestandteile, von außen zugeschrieben wird. Neben völlig neuen Wörtern, die entstehen, um neu aufkommenden Dingen eine Beschreibung zu geben (z.B.Coronaschutzverordnung), ist das Deutsche eine äußerst kompositionsfreudige Sprache. Somit lässt sich feststellen, dass neue Wörter durch die neue Benennung von Dingen und durch die Benennung neuer Dinge entstehen. Die Komposition ist neben der Derivation die wichtigste und produktivste Form der Wortbildung. Zu Beginn wird der lexikalische Ansatz nach Olsen (1986) dargelegt und in Bezug auf die Rektions- und Nicht-Rektionskomposita sowie die Argumentvererbung und das θ-Kriterium untersucht. Im Anschluss daran wird sich den syntaktischen und morpho-syntaktischen Ansätzen nach Rivet (1999) und Siebert (1999) gewidmet, deren Ansätze auf der Annahme einer Kopfbewegung beruhen. In einer kritischen Auseinandersetzung mit den drei Ansätzen, sollen Gemeinsamkeiten und Unterschiede sowie die Plausibilität der genannten Ansätze zur Erklärung von Rektionskomposita analysiert werden. Focusing on the multi-faceted topic of Eurolects, this volume brings together knowledge and methodologies from various disciplines, including sociolinguistics, legal linguistics, corpus linguistics, and translation studies. The legislative varieties of eleven EU official and working languages (Dutch, English, Finnish, French, German, Greek, Italian, Latvian, Maltese, Polish, Spanish) are analyzed using corpus methodologies in order to investigate the variational dynamics and translation-induced patterns of the different languages. The underlying assumption is that, within the sociolinguistic continua of the EU languages, it is possible to single out specific legislative varieties (Eurolects) that originate at a supra-national level. This research hypothesis is strongly supported by the empirical findings derived from detailed corpus analyses of each language. This work represents the first systematic and comprehensive linguistic research conducted on a wide range of EU languages using the same protocol and applying corpus methodologies to the extensive Eurolect Observatory Multilingual Corpus.

Category change, broadly defined as the shift from one word class to another, is often studied as part of other changes, such as grammaticalization or lexicalization, but not in its own right. This volume offers a survey of different types of category change and their properties, e.g. abrupt versus gradual changes, morphological versus syntactic changes, or context-independent versus context-sensitive changes. The purpose of this collection of papers is to explore the concepts of linguistic category and category change from the perspective of Construction Grammar. Over the last decades, it has been hotly debated whether and how compounds, i.e. word-formations, and phrases differ from each other. The book discusses this issue by investigating compounds and phrases from a structural, semantic-functional and, crucially, cognitive perspective. The analysis focuses on compounds and phrases that are composed of either an adjective and a noun or two nouns in German, French and English. Having distinguished compounds from phrases on structural and semantic-functional grounds, the author claims that compounds are by their nature more appropriate to be stored in the mental lexicon than phrases and supports his argument with empirical evidence from new psycholinguistic studies. In sum, the book maintains the separation between compounds and phrases and reflects upon its cognitive consequences.
