DAWN OF INNOCENCE a novel by Manly E Hogg was written while I was out to sea during the Gulf War. I had written a poem called "The One " while standing a mid watch as Officer of the Deck. This poem led to the novel which is about a Native American college student and an African American student that meet, fall in love and then find themselves in a situation where they have to prove themselves worthy of the other parents love and respect. Dawn, the Indian girl, finds herself alone in "the hood" facing cultural differences which include a violent ex-girlfriend that does not want to accept losing her football star ex-boyfriend via her meal ticket out of the hood. Darryl, an African American finds himself alone on the reservation proving his manhood through trials and tribulations at the hands of a warrior chief grandson that refuses to accept that his meal ticket off the reservation is slipping away as Darryl meets all test given by the old warrior Chief.

A Romantic Tale of Recovery from Lost Innocence Meet Dawn, a trusting little girl full of life and love. Follow her on a journey from childhood to womanhood as she navigates through life, trying to forget what happened to her in the shed when she was just six years old. Her innocence is stolen, her spirit is broken, and her soul is damaged. She tries to forget, but the memories haunt her. Will she ever be able to enjoy the intimacy of love without being traumatized by the flashbacks from her past? Meet Jerrod, a sweet little boy full of love and adoration for Dawn. He is her best friend and always has been. As time passes, he falls deeply in love with her. The passion they begin to feel for each other has them experiencing things she remembers from her past. Although she craves Jerrod's loving attention, their intimate actions feel all too familiar to her, triggering dark, vivid memories. He must unknowingly deal with the aftermath of her atypical childhood, comforting her through her pain, unaware of the reasons for it. Jerrod loves her enough to help her, but will she ever be able to tell him the secret that she keeps? Experience the intimacy of their young love, tainted by the secret that will not leave her alone. See how the shameful actions she works so hard to keep hidden, pale in comparison to the deep, dark secret eating away at her soul. This is a coming of age love story full of childhood innocence, first times, and true romance. Watch as this couple grows up together discovering patience, determination, and the power of pure love. Alice Cangemi has written a poignant romance novel that all women should read. According to Psychology Professor, Dr. Karen Buckman, former social worker in child abuse, "This book is very relevant today. Alice Cangemi has written a cautionary story. Her book is about survival and resilience and relates how a young girl experiences her first love after sexual abuse. This book raises awareness of sexual abuse and sheds light on the trauma it causes." This novel will enlighten you as to why a child will not tell you that he or she is being sexually abused, why it continues to happen over and over again, what kind of aftermath the child may endure, and most importantly, what you can do to prevent it. Although this is a beautiful love story, it also carries a powerful, socially important message. This major work of historical and interpretative scholarship draws upon fresh evidence to set the Songs in a new perspective. Blake's etchings are substantially discussed alongside the poems they illustrate. The plates of both Innocence and Experience are considered in detail as Blake's response to social circumstances between 1782 and 1794. The reader is asked to re-think the nature of 'the Two Contrary States', and the relationship of the designs to the understanding of Blake.

"The Age of Innocence" centers on an upper-class couple's impending marriage, and the introduction of the bride's cousin, plagued by scandal, whose presence threatens their happiness. The story is set in the 1870s, in upper-class, "Gilded-Age" New York City. The novel is noted for attention to detail and its accurate portrayal of how the 19th-century East Coast American upper class lived, as well as for the social tragedy of its plot._x000D_ "Old New York" is a collection of four novellas revolving around upper-class New York City society in the 1840s, 1850s, 1860s, and 1870s. The New York of these stories is the same as the New York of The Age of Innocence, from which several fictional characters have spilled over into these stories. The observation of the manners and morals of 19th century New York upper-class society is directly reminiscent of The Age of Innocence, but these novellas are shaped more as character studies._x000D_ _x000D_ _x000D_
