"2005 Turner Prize winner Simon Starling is known for his investigations into the hidden lives of objects and images, and his catalogues are an integral part of his production. The Nanjing Particles, published for an exhibition at MASS MoCA, is a unique object that takes as its departure a historical stereograph of Chinese laborers brought to Massachusetts in 1870 to break a strike. Starling literally mined the photographs for their history, extracting from their emulsion two silver particles. Enlarged one million times, the microscopic grains were translated into stainless steel sculptures fabricated by workers in Nanjing. Taking viewers through the installation and the work's fabrication process, the book reiterates the visual and conceptual play of the exhibition. The cover, which features die-cut peepholes, mimics the form of a structure in the exhibition. Das "Elfriede Jelinek Werkverzeichnis" ist ein philologisches Grundlagenwerk, das zum ersten Mal alle Werke Elfriede Jelineks bibliographisch erfasst und darüber hinaus eine Gesamtauflistung der Übersetzungen von Jelinek-Werken in andere Sprachen gibt. Eine Aufstellung über Schwerpunktsendungen zu Jelinek in Radio und Fernsehen und der Bearbeitungen, die andere KünstlerInnen von Jelinek-Werken vorgenommen haben, runden das Werkverzeichnis ab. Erstmals wird das Werk Jelineks in seiner ganzen Dimension erschlossen, wobei auch bislang unbekannte und in keiner Weise aufgearbeitete Bereiche wie die Übersetzungen, die Jelinek erstellt hat, Jelineks essayistische Texte, ihre Kurzprosa, ihre Lyrik und ihre Kompositionen Berücksichtigung finden. Das Werkverzeichnis ist nicht nur als bibliographisches Nachschlagewerk konzipiert, das zum ersten Mal eine fundierte und überprüfte Basis für die wissenschaftliche Beschäftigung mit Jelineks Werken gibt, es liefert darüber hinaus zu den jeweiligen Werken und Werkgruppen Basisinformationen, die eine gesicherte Grundlagenforschung ermöglichen. Es werden so die unmittelbaren Anlässe der Werke, Daten zu Produktionen und Aufführungsverzeichnisse dargelegt sowie inhaltliche Kurzkommentierungen vorgenommen. Das Werkverzeichnis bietet zudem Werkausschnitte und Texte, die einen ersten Eindruck der Werke ermöglichen und zu einer weiteren Beschäftigung mit ihnen anregen. Geplant ist, das Werkverzeichnis auch nach dem Erscheinen fortzuführen. In bestimmten Zeitabständen sollen überarbeitete Neuauflagen folgen, in denen die jeweiligen Bereiche auf den letzten Stand gebracht worden sind.
