Descripción / Resumen (Inglés): The works that the reader will find in this volume are a continuation of the lines of research previously addressed by the Spanish-German network "Humanistic knowledge and ways of life". The object of study on this occasion is the relationship between literature, science and thought in the XVI-XVIII centuries, based for the most part on texts and forms of dissemination that deal with magical and skeptical aspects. As is well known, the study of literature, in many cases, is not only literary, not even humanistic, but is also linked to the scientific horizon and the episteme of each era. In the sixteenth-eighteenth centuries, literature, science and thought were imbricated in the works of many writers whose interests went beyond the strictly literary, interested in medicine, astrology or astronomy, among other scientific options. Authors that we now consider scientists were considered men of letters or humanists at a time when literature and science went hand in hand. The volume is dedicated to the study of that happy convergence.

Trance Y Memoria En El Budismo Y El Yoga written by Raquel Ferrández and has been published by Editorial Kairós this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2022-06-08 with Philosophy categories.

Manifesto Of New Realism written by Maurizio Ferraris and has been published by State University of New York Press this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2014-12-01 with Philosophy categories.

Philosophical realism has taken a number of different forms, each applied to different topics and set against different forms of idealism and subjectivism. Maurizio Ferraris's Manifesto of New Realism takes aim at postmodernism and hermeneutics, arguing against their emphasis on reality as constructed and interpreted. While acknowledging the value of these criticisms of traditional, dogmatic realism, Ferraris insists that the insights of postmodernism have reached a dead end. Calling for the discipline to turn its focus back to truth and the external world, Ferraris's manifesto—which sparked lively debate in Italy and beyond—offers a wiser realism with social and political relevance.

The Vienna Circle written by Victor Kraft and has been published by Open Road Media this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2015-10-20 with History categories.

Join original Vienna Circle member Victor Kraft in his discussion of the movement for an exclusive insider’s view of this important point in philosophical history. In this in-depth philosophical study, Victor Kraft explores the role the Vienna Circle had on the international philosophical movement. The Vienna Circle constituted a point of departure for the reawaking, rebirth, and reformation of positivism and empiricism, leading to the creation of the Neo-positivism movement. At the time of The Vienna Circle’s publication in the 1950s, the Neo-positivism movement stood in the foreground of contemporary philosophy, and it was quite possibly the most significant serious philosophical movement in the period between the two world wars. Making Kraft’s study of Neo-positivism available to a world audience, Arthur Pap provides a rich and accessible translation from the original German. The book contains detailed expositions, accompanied here and there by criticism, of the Vienna Circle’s views on the criteria of significance, the nature of logic and mathematics, the phenomenalist analysis of physical concepts, the verification-basis of scientific propositions, the meaning of probability, physicalism, and much more.
