DIY Survival: Deadly Projects for Self-Defense Welcome to DIY Survival Projects: Deadly Defences, a DIY book about prepping your home with a deadly defense that can kill your enemies or harm them enough to where you can protect your family. This book is not only built to help you identify how you can build your traps effectively and for specific purposes but also shows you a wide range of different traps you can make yourself. In the first chapter, we will go over the purpose of a deadly defense and the three different aspects that make up a deadly defense, such as: Receiving knowledge that your enemy is about to hit your house Launching attacks on your opponent before they can even come close to you Building solid traps that will damage or kill your enemies before they reach you or your loved ones In the second chapter, we will get right into the traps by setting up some ways you can use to detect your enemies before they reach your more sensitive areas. In the third chapter, we will go ahead and build some deadly traps that will catch your opponents by surprise both inside of the house and outside of the house. This includes electrification all the way up to shoving a spear into their bodies while you hide behind cover. The last two chapters will cover some more traps, such as: What you can do with a jar of honey, glue, and wood to make your enemy regret stepping foot in or around your house. Using carpets as a natural form of defense. Using a modified old comedic gag as a deadly defense This book is not only designed to help you build deadly defenses for your home, but also generate new ideas that you can incorporate into your overall defense. Deadly Censorship written by James Lowell Underwood and has been published by Univ of South Carolina Press this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2013-12-15 with History categories.

The definitive story of a South Carolina newspaper editor’s murder at the hands of a 1902 gubernatorial candidate, and the dramatic trial that ensued. On January 15, 1903, South Carolina lieutenant governor James H. Tillman shot and killed Narciso G. Gonzales, editor of South Carolina’s most powerful newspaper, the State. Blaming Gonzales’s stinging editorials for his loss of the 1902 gubernatorial race, Tillman shot Gonzales to avenge the defeat and redeem his “honor” and his reputation as a man who took bold, masculine action in the face of an insult. James Lowell Underwood investigates the epic murder trial of Tillman to test whether biting editorials were a legitimate exercise of freedom of the press or an abuse that justified killing when camouflaged as self-defense. This clash—between the revered values of respect for human life and freedom of expression on the one hand and deeply engrained ideas about honor on the other—took place amid legal maneuvering and political posturing worthy of a major motion picture. One of the most innovative elements of Deadly Censorship is Underwood’s examination of homicide as a deterrent to public censure. He asks the question, “Can a man get away with murdering a political opponent?” Deadly Censorship is courtroom drama and a true story. Underwood offers a painstaking re-creation of an act of violence in front of the State House, the subsequent trial, and Tillman’s acquittal, which sent shock waves across the United States. A specialist on constitutional law, Underwood has written the definitive examination of the court proceedings, the state’s complicated homicide laws, and the violent cult of personal honor that had undergirded South Carolina society since the colonial era. “Since the 1920s, the United States has had dozens of sensational trials—all of which have been labeled “the trial of the century.” There is no question had the trial of Lieutenant Governor James Tillman for the murder of N. G. Gonzales, the editor of the State newspaper, occurred in our time that it would have had the same appellation. . . . Riveting . . . as gripping as any contemporary courtroom drama.” —Walter Edgar, author of South Carolina: A History “An insightful and in-depth look at the assassination of Columbia newspaper editor N.G. Gonzales by South Carolina Lt. Gov. James H. Tillman in 1903. Jim Underwood’s carefully researched work not only reports on the killing and ensuing trial, it explains the forces that created a society where it was acceptable to kill a man to silence his pen.” —Jay Bender, Reid H. Montgomery Freedom of Information Chair, University of South Carolina “Finally, Jim Underwood has unraveled the killing, the murder trial, and the aftermath, and through his narrative tells a story of unfettered freedom of the press versus hot-bloodied Southern manhood honor. Without question, Deadly Censorship is a remarkable, eloquent, and important book.” —W. Lewis Burke, Director of Clinical Legal Studies, School of Law, University of South Carolina

Self Defence In Criminal Law written by Boaz Sangero and has been published by Bloomsbury Publishing this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2006-07-24 with Law categories.

This book combines a careful philosophical discussion of the rationale justifying self-defence with a detailed discussion of the range of statutory self-defence requirements, as well as discussions of numerous other relevant issues (i.e. putative self-defense, excessive self-defense, earlier guilt and battered women). The book argues that before formulating definitions for each aspect of self-defence (necessity, proportionality, retreat, immediacy, mental element, etc.) it is imperative to determine the proper rationale for self-defence and, only then to derive the appropriate solutions. The first part contains an in-depth discussion of why society allows a justification for acts but does not excuse the actor from criminal liability, and the author critically analyzes current theories (culpability of the aggressor; autonomy of the attacked person; protection of the social-legal order; balancing interests; choice of the lesser evil) and points out the weaknesses of each theory before proposing a new theory to explain the justification of self-defence. The new theory is that for the full justification of self-defence, a balance of interests must be struck between the expected physical injury to the attacked person and the expected physical injury to the aggressor, as well as the relevant abstract factors: the autonomy of the attacked person, the culpability of the aggressor, and the social-legal order. The author demonstrates how ignoring one or more of these factors leads to erroneous results and how the proposed rationale can be applied to develop solutions to the complex questions raised.

The Culture Of Defense written by Christopher D. Van Aller and has been published by Lexington Books this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2001 with History categories.

Chris Van Aller demonstrates that a better understanding of the complicated civil-military relationship in the United States is prerequisite to reforming the expensive and often inefficient military establishment maintained since World War II. Arguing that reduced defense expenditures and adequate national security are both possible, this book illustrates how American political culture remains deeply ambivalent about national security. Though significant budget cuts have been implemented over the past five years, Van Aller takes a closer look at the fact that no true reorganization or reconceptualization has taken place. For policy makers, historians of American military history and anyone who cares about this complex topic, The Culture of Defense will be indispensable reading.

Criminal Law written by Markus Dubber and has been published by OUP Oxford this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2014-03-28 with Law categories.

Criminal Law: A Comparative Approach presents a systematic and comprehensive analysis of the substantive criminal law of two major jurisdictions: the United States and Germany. Presupposing no familiarity with either U.S. or German criminal law, the book will provide criminal law scholars and students with a rich comparative understanding of criminal law's foundations and central doctrines. All foreign-language sources have been translated into English; cases and materials are accompanied by heavily cross-referenced introductions and notes that place them within the framework of each country's criminal law system and highlight issues ripe for comparative analysis. Divided into three parts, the book covers foundational issues - such as constitutional limits on the criminal law - before tackling the major features of the general part of the criminal law and a selection of offences in the special part. Throughout, readers are exposed to alternative approaches to familiar problems in criminal law, and as a result will have a chance to see a given country's criminal law doctrine, on specific issues and in general, from the critical distance of comparative analysis.
