DEambulatio ARchitectonica II expresa muchos comienzos e ilusiones, desde personales hasta académicas e investigadoras. Como ya hiciéramos con el primer libro de esta incipiente colección de experiencias, se muestran aquí textos inteligentes que surgen desde diferentes experiencias y latitudes, pero con "los inicios" como eje transversal de pensamiento. Estoy convencido de que la claridad de sus palabras supondrá un importante acicate a seguir comenzando nuevos inicios.

Deambular, siguiendo estrictamente el significado que nos da el DRAE, es ir de un lugar a otro sin un fin determinado. Posiblemente, pudiera parecer que ello supone caminar sin lógica, sin rumbo alguno. Realmente consiste en dedicar tiempo al hecho del recorrido, sin pretensión de llegar a un punto determinado. Es usual encontrar espacios "de pasos perdidos" en arquitecturas en las que la componente dialéctica o reflexiva tiene un papel configurador. Surgen así las girolas, deambulatorios o peristilos, dando cabida a un hecho eminentemente socrático: recorrer sin llegar a un final, moverse por el ejercicio de reflexionar. Como subrayaban los Padres del Desierto en la Filocalia, el concepto se traduce en realidad al desarrollar el pensamiento y la reflexión, dejando al cuerpo en un letargo provocado por un movimiento rítmico no conducente a nada. Este ha sido el objetivo fundamental marcado durante el curso académico que recogemos en esta memoria: movernos de un lado a otro entre diferentes acontecimientos arquitectónicos e ir ejercitando un posicionamiento crítico. Para ello, hemos contado con tres importantes ayudas: una selección de textos, una cuidada relación de arquitecturas y la excepcional presencia de diferentes arquitectos y profesores de diversas universidades españolas y extranjeras. Con estos tres compañeros de camino hemos recorrido el trayecto enmarcado de la asignatura Historia, Teoría y Composición Arquitectónicas.
