He recorded and toured as a session musician with many well-known groups including The Stranglers, The Damned, Elvis Costello, Ian Drury and Dr. Feelgood. The author describes himself as a poet, musician and Buddhist (though not necessarily in that order). Laurie now lives in Hastings in East Sussex with his wife Cate and their cocker spaniel.
