Recent news of a California city to outlaw circumcision, and anti-Semitic and anti-Zionistic activities at many U.S. Universities has already caused many Jews to recoil in horror. Bothered by this, history teacher and author Michael Stein decides to write a compelling fiction, Decision 2030, about the Jews' decision to fight or leave. This book is a fictional account of a Jewish community, Grayvelt, that is suffering from physical and political attacks on a massive scale in the years prior to 2030. Because of the damage done to the Jewish quality of life, the community responds in two different directions. One choice is to remain in the U.S, and fight with the help of competent civilian soldiers; another choice is to move to the northern part of Israel into a new community. The three major emerging Jewish heroes are Earle Smith, Gloria Resnick, and Rabbi Moshe Weinhauser. The Jews are helped by four non-Jewish couples known as the Fearsome Foursome. The four couples show the Jews how to fight back. The growing admiration between the Jewish community and the fearsome Foursome results in the winning strategy to minimize the terrible effects of the anti-Semitic Edgar Brown Society. Decision 2030 contains the different points of view to remain or leave the U.S. for Israel. It has a great deal of adventure dealing with fire bombings, car and truck chases, midnight attacks, and military attacks. It also has nearly a dozen examples of alliteration which came forth in the natural flow of the author's pen. The novel also contains an original prayer and an alliterative poem.

Tomorrow’s changes are coming. With guidance from this invaluable resource, you can prepare for them today! The tumultuous changes in the business world during the last decade have forced too many to focus on the short term, rushing to figure out how to produce quarterly profits in chaotic conditions. As a result, the longer view is often obscured, leaving businesses so busy fighting today’s battles that they are completely unprepared for tomorrow’s war. The next cataclysmic wave is surging relentlessly ahead, demanding leaders who can steer their companies through complexity and change. In Leadership 2030, six megatrends are uncovered for the forward-thinking leader that will dramatically impact organizations' markets, cultures, systems, and processes: 1. Globalization 2.0: Asia dominates the global economy. 2. Climate change: Sustainability becomes imperative. 3. Individualism: Freedom of choice erodes loyalty. 4. Digitization: Boundaries blur between private and working lives. 5. Demographic changes: Aging populations intensify the talent war. 6. Converging technologies: The sharpest tech shift in history is around the corner. Research findings and case studies, drawn from original research conducted jointly with foresight company Z-Punkt and further analyzed by Hay Group, provide compelling evidence of each megatrend and highlight the skills, capabilities, and attitudes leaders must cultivate in order to maneuver through it all.

This book examines the UN 2030 SDGs Agenda and its comprehensive, multi-stakeholder approach to achieving a more human rights-based and environmentally sustainable development process. More crucially, it provides a much needed and innovative analysis of the role of Monitoring and Evaluation in this Agenda and the challenges that evaluators will face due to the Agenda's inherent weaknesses, coupled with the practice and limited culture of evaluation in general. The authors look to actively help evaluators and other interested parties to develop their capacity to evaluate this ambitious Agenda and develop mitigating strategies for the inherent challenges that will be encountered whilst implementing and evaluating this Agenda.

The clock is relentlessly ticking! Within 30 years, in the 2030 decade, six powerful 'drivers' will converge with unprecedented force in a statistical spike that could tear humanity apart and plunge the world into a new Dark Age. Depleted fuel supplies, massive population growth, poverty, global climate change, famine, growing water shortages and international lawlessness are on a crash course with potentially catastrophic consequences. Ultimately his message is clear; we must act decisively, collectively and immediately to alter the trajectory of humanity away from catastrophe. This book represents an unusual intervention in debates about the nature of contemporary international development, where the majority of scholarship tends to concern itself with measuring or collating goal performance. Through a series of analyses of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, this book explores development as a political construct, and is concerned with the kinds of epistemological, hegemonic, or politico-economic assumptions built into contemporary development policy, and the ensuing effectiveness the SDGs will have in terms of addressing or perpetuating the historical impoverishment of large groups of people living in poverty. The contributors to the book take issue with many of the assumptions upon which SDGs rest, while also broadening the conversation to pay attention to knowledge production, modernity, colonialism, exclusion, citizenship, and other conceptual insights. In this context, the book raises questions about the discourses and practices of the SDGs, especially in relation to how they can: define the limits of what can be said and what can be done; shape development logics through notions of division and forms of exclusion; construct political problems as technical problems; create certain spaces of imagination as a field of activity; and endorse particular ideas and forms of knowledge in models for sustainable development. This book was originally published as a special issue of Globalizations.
