The human condition has continued to improve phenomenally in today’s world with the development of technology and medicine. This includes developing countries in areas such as Africa, Asia, and South America. Despite the emergence of economy, education, and infrastructure in these regions, media outlets continue to forego their advancements in favor of the negativities that plague these states such as poverty, hunger, and corruption. There is a need to research international media portrayals of the less developed world to ascertain the myth that these areas are still struggling. Deconstructing Images of the Global South Through Media Representations and Communication provides emerging research exploring the theoretical and practical aspects of how global media analyzes developing countries. Featuring coverage on a broad range of topics such as cultural affirmation, online platforms, and audience perception, this book is ideally designed for communications specialists, journalists, broadcasters, newscasters, conflict photographers, media practitioners, policymakers, international relation experts, column writers/editors, students, politicians, government officials, researchers, and academicians seeking current research on the world’s perception of developing countries through media coverage.

Deconstructing Sacramental Theology And Reconstructing Catholic Ritual written by Joseph Martos and has been published by Wipf and Stock Publishers this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2015-05-12 with Religion categories.
Catholic sacramental doctrine has lost much of its credibility. Baptized people leave the church, adolescents stop attending shortly after they are confirmed, supposedly indissoluble marriages regularly dissolve, few go to confession, and many do not believe in transubstantiation. Drawing upon his decades-long study of the sacraments, Martos reveals how teachings that seemed rooted in the scriptures and Catholic life have become unmoored from the contexts in which they arose, and why seemingly eternal truths are actually historically relative. After carefully constructing Catholic teaching from the church's own documents, he deconstructs it by demonstrating how biblical passages were misconstrued by patristic authors and how patristic writings were misunderstood by medieval scholastics. The long process of misinterpretation culminated in the dogmatic pronouncements of the Council of Trent, which continues to dominate Catholic thinking about the church's religious ceremonies. If the sacraments are released from their dogmatic baggage, Martos believes that the spiritual realities they symbolize can be celebrated in any human culture without being tied to their traditional rites.

"[A] magnificent work... that will definitely shape the discussion on Derrida for years to come." -- Rodolphe Gasché What is the nature of the relationship of Jacques Derrida and deconstruction to Edmund Husserl and phenomenology? Is deconstruction a radical departure from phenomenology or does it trace its origins to the phenomenological project? In Derrida and Husserl, Leonard Lawlor illuminates Husserl's influence on the French philosophical tradition that inspired Derrida's thought. Beginning with Eugen Fink's pivotal essay on Husserl's philosophy, Lawlor carefully reconstructs the conceptual context in which Derrida developed his interpretation of Husserl. Lawlor's investigations of the work of Jean Cavaillà ̈s, Tran-Duc-Thao, and Jean Hyppolite, as well as recent texts by Derrida, reveal the depth of Derrida's relationship to Husserl's phenomenology. Along the way, Lawlor revisits and sheds light on the origin of many important Derridean concepts, such as deconstruction, the metaphysics of presence, différance, intentionality, the trace, and spectrality.
