The outstanding authors of Deliberate Motherhood have let the trials and hardships of motherhood mold them into better people. Whether the change includes learning patience when the two-year-old “paints” your walls with the black permanent marker, or forgiving a teenager who screams “I hate you,” or loving more when that naughty child doesn’t really deserve it, it’s a change that refines us—or as the dictionary describes it, “removes impurities, makes something more effective or become more elegant.” That is powerful! You may think that everything has been said about motherhood, but the delightful thing about Deliberate Motherhood is that every mother/author is one-of-a-kind. They each come from different backgrounds, have different parents, are married (or not) to different people, and certainly have “different” children. Each of the 12 “Powers” provided in this book is a crucial component to help you in your motherhood. And the best part is that you don’t need to do it all at once. You can focus on one “power” a month, and over the course of a year, you’ll see great changes in yourself and in your family. The mark of a great book is that it makes you think . . . and it helps you change . . . which in the case of this book, is an absolute guarantee!

Essence Of A Mother written by Julie Jensen and has been published by Rowman & Littlefield this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2014-03-18 with Family & Relationships categories.

Julie Jensen used to believe that mothering meant being on task--making homemade cupcakes for school birthday parties, chauffeuring her kids to all of their various activities, and so on. But as her Multiple Sclerosis progressed, she was no longer physically able to keep up, and she watched one role after another slip away. It forced her to look inside: Was her value just her physical body and her ability to do and be productive? Julie soon realized that these activities were far less important than she ever imagined and that the true source of her power came from within. Her children simply needed to be close to her to feel connected. Far too much emphasis is placed on doing and not enough on being. A mother's real purpose is to endow her children with a deep understanding of connection, love, self-esteem, and compassion while reinforcing the importance of human values. In her heartfelt, encouraging book, Julie shares the lessons she has learned about fostering self-reliance, taking it slow, cultivating radiance, adopting an attitude of gratitude, and being mindful.

A modern motherhood book to connect you back to yourself As we enter into motherhood, we are often given a filtered version of what motherhood will be like with a silent list of expectations on how to be a "good" mother. This outdated story is what sets us on a course where we place pressure on ourselves to be it all and do it all. Ultimately, we lose ourselves. Worldwide, we have mothers who are surviving instead of thriving. Depleted, unfulfilled and longing to find the woman they have lost since becoming a mother. Now, women are calling from within their souls to find their own version of motherhood that feels good and is free from judgement, guilt and self-sacrifice. Conscious Motherhood is not just every woman's invitation to change the story of motherhood, it also encourages you to journey into yourself, to heal your heart and welcome balance between yourself and mother. This modern motherhood book will help you find balance and peace of mind through embracing all the experiences of motherhood - both the beautiful and madness. It will guide you to welcoming more understanding and acceptance of the imperfect beauty of motherhood. Get ready to re-love yourself, trust your intuition and create dreams alongside an enriched experience of motherhood. This is your homecoming to the woman you were always meant to be.

Conscious Motherhood written by Katherine Dickson and has been published by Katherine Dickson Books this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2005-03-17 with Family & Relationships categories.

Conscious Motherhood is a personal account of how having a child changes one woman's life. It is the story of one woman's experience of herself during these changes. This semi-autobiography traces the journey toward increasing psychological and emotional wholeness and the role of motherhood in this process. The birth of the child initiates a dichotomy between home life and work life and how the new mother deals with the conflict between continuing her career or full time motherhood. Immediately after the birth, she experiences her body as an instrument in the titanic force of life. In the early days at home with her baby, she feels she has left civilization and has descended psychologically to a place which is very close to both life and death. Without the structure that a career gives life, she experiences daily life against the patriarchal structures of family and marriage. A sense of emptiness within, loss of her center, and loss of control of her own life is felt. In her isolation she feels the presence of her mother and grandmother and seeks role models and mentors in her friends. Her mind is filled with images of women and mothers as well as images of daughters recapitulating their own mothers' experiences. She questions how she would like her experiences to be different from those of her mother and what utopian motherhood could be like, and how these expectations are shaped by one's early experience of home and domesticity. The sense of inner revolution and upheaval is paralleled by chaotic and violent events in society. The year is 1968; Martin Luther King and Robert Kennedy are assassinated, the women's movement begins, students riot, and many protest the Vietnam War. These events form the backdrop of a long journey, told in twelve chapters in the creative nonfiction genre. The point or purpose of the work is to both present a unique personal account of individual growth as well as to present those aspects of a major experience which are universal. What is valuable and interesting about this journey is that this rite of passage is told from the woman's point of view and the woman's experience through the life-writing or memoir style.
