Buku Demi Sebuah Asa: Refleksi Tahun Ketiga Lembaga Kajian Strategis Al Washliyah merupakan buku yang mengulas perjalanan intelektual lembaga otonom Al Washliyah yang bernama Lembaga Kajian Strategis Al Washliyah, disingkat LKSA. Al Jam’iyatul Washliyah, biasa disebut Al Washliyah, merupakan organisasi Islam moderat yang telah berbuat bagi bangsa dan negara sejak era kolonial Belanda, diresmikan di Medan, 30 November 1930. Lembaga otonom ini secara khusus mengkaji ragam soal ekonomi, politik, sosial dan budaya yang dihadapi organisasi Al Washliyah, salah satu organisasi Islam terkemuka di Indonesia. LKSA merupakan salah satu lembaga yang dibentuk untuk melaksanakan tugas yang tidak menjadi lingkup tugas majelis-majelis, tetapi dipandang perlu guna menunjang keberhasilan program dan usaha-usaha Al Washliyah. Sebagai lembaga otonom Al Washliyah, LKSA bertujuan membantu kelancaran pelaksanaan pencapaian tujuan program kerja organisasi yang bersifat khusus. Tugas utama sebuah lembaga otonom dalam organisasi Al Washliyah adalah menjalankan program organisasi yang bersifat khusus. Dahulu, LKSA bernama Badan Kajian Strategis Al Washliyah. Saat ini, LKSA fokus untuk melaksanakan berbagai diskusi ilmiah, serta penerbitan buku dan jurnal. Al Washliyah sebagai organisasi Islam diresmikan di Kota Medan, 30 November 1930. Para pendiri organisasi ini adalah sejumlah pelajar agama di Maktab Islamiyah Tapanuli dan Madrasah al-Hasaniyah. Buku ini memberikan gambaran tentang gerakan intelektual LKSA PB Al Washliyah dan pokok-pokok pikiran yang berkembang dalam program Awsat Forum.
