Provocative, passionate and populist, RMB Manifestos are short and concise non-fiction books of literary, critical, and cultural studies. First Nations are facing some of the worst water crises in Canada and throughout North America. Their widespread lack of access to safe drinking water receives ongoing national media attention, and yet progress addressing the causes of the problem is painfully slow. First Nations have had little say in how their waters are, or are not, protected. They have been excluded from many important decisions, as provinces operate under the view that they own the water resources within provincial boundaries, and the federal government takes a hands-off approach. The demands for access to waters that First Nations depend upon are intense and growing. Oil and gas, mining, ranching, farming and hydro-development all require enormous quantities of water, and each brings its own set of negative impacts to the rivers, lakes and groundwater sources that are critical to First Nations. Climate change threatens to make matters even worse. Over the last 30 years, the courts have clarified that First Nations have numerous rights to land and resources, including the right to be involved in decision-making. This book is a call to respect the water rights of First Nations, and through this create a new water ethic in Canada and beyond.

Christian Self Denial The Source Of Life written by Jude Ramagosa and has been published by Jude Ramagosa this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on with Religion categories.

We are saved or born again by believing and accepting Jesus as Lord and essentially the Greek definition of believing is trusting our self to Christ. By accepting Him as Lord we joyfully lose our life and this is denying self for His sake then we shall find our life in Him. The definition of deny in Matthew 16:24 is to lose one’s interest which is losing our life for His sake. Self-denial is a willingness to forgo all and forgoing as He directs. In this booklet denying self for salvation and daily denying self is considered an act of faith giving way to good works. Works from denying self will not save us but when we deny self for Jesus sake we are saved. In other words faith is for salvation not works of holiness, sanctification… etc. and the faith of denying self for His sake is our salvation but not by works of denying self.

Denying History takes a bold and in-depth look at those who say the Holocaust never happened and explores the motivations behind such claims. While most commentators have dismissed the Holocaust deniers as antisemitic neo-Nazi thugs who do not deserve a response, historians Michael Shermer and Alex Grobman have immersed themselves in the minds and culture of these Holocaust "revisionists." In the process, they show how we can be certain that the Holocaust happened and, for that matter, how we can confirm any historical event. This edition is expanded with a new chapter and epilogue examining current, shockingly mainstream revisionism.

Planned, instituted and run by the Japanese Imperial Military during the Asia-Pacific War, the ‘comfort women’ system remains hugely controversial. Although political leaders often contest the role of coercion, many argue that the ‘comfort women’ were mobilized forcibly, through processes of abduction and deception. Utilising archival research, court testimonies and eyewitness accounts of both survivors and military and civilian personnel, this book argues its case in three ways. Part I analyses the modalities of coercion employed by the authorities and investigates the historical differences and continuities between licensed peacetime prostitution and wartime sexual slavery. Part II then examines the failures f the Asian Women’s Fund to resolve the ‘comfort women’ issue, whilst Part III explores the removal of ‘comfort women’ content from school history texts after the late 1990s and details Japan’s diplomatic efforts to prevent war victims froms uing the post-war state. Presenting a strong argument in opposition to the revisionist school of thought, this book ultimately concludes that a realistic settlement would see a victim-oriented solution that the survivors can accept. Written by leading Japanese and zainichi Korean scholars, Denying the Comfort Women will be of huge interest to students and scholars of modern Japanese studies, gender studies, women’s studies and Asian history.

The denial of scientific knowledge has become respectable in todays society, to the point that it threatens the health of the public and the stability of our society as climatic changes due to global warming occur. So the growth of science denial goes much further than just a lack of interest in learning about the world about us. Today, some people go out of their way to try to convince legislators and the general public that scientists are not doing objective, reliable work but instead are crying wolf about imagined problems. The efforts to discredit scientific studies are funded by the fossil fuel industry and are facilitated by the existence of social media, which enable anyone to say nearly anything without being asked for evidence or for their qualifications. The topics covered in this book highlight some of the differences between reputable studies and the public relations efforts of groups that reject scientific studies in order to advance their own agendas.
