BRD: 1, Universität Zürich (Soziologisches Institut), 35 Quellen im Literaturverzeichnis, Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: In der vorliegenden Arbeit wird der Frage nachgegangen, wie neue Informations- und Kommunikationstechnologien (IuK-Technologien) auf die räumliche und zeitliche Organisation der Arbeit und des Arbeitsprozesses einwirken. Um die gesamte Tragweite des Einflusses der neuen IuK-Technologien analysieren zu können, ist es unerlässlich, auch auf die sozial- und wirtschaftsstrukturelle Beschaffenheit von Gesellschaften einzugehen. Aus diesem Grund wird im ersten Kapitel aufgezeigt, wie sich die räumliche und temporale Organisation des Arbeitsprozesses vor dem Hintergrund des Übergangs vom materiellen Paradigma der Industriegesellschaft hin zur "entmaterialisierten" Informations- und Wissensgesellschaft verändert hat. Hierbei nehmen die in den 1980er Jahren entstandenen und vor allem in den 1990er Jahren diffundierten IuK-Technologien wie Internet, Intranet, E-Mail usw. einen zentralen Stellenwert ein, indem sie von Menschen und Unternehmen nicht nur zur Wissens- und Informationsproduktion genutzt werden, sondern ihnen gleichzeitig ermöglicht haben, auch in der räumlichen und zeitlichen Organisation und Distribution der Arbeit neue Wege zu beschreiten. Im zweiten Kapitel werden die Veränderungen auf der mesosoziologischen Stufe thematisiert. Konkret soll dargelegt werden, welche Möglichkeiten der räumlichen Arbeitsverteilung und der zeitlichen Flexibilisierung der Arbeitsabläufe durch den Gebrauch von polyvalent einsetzbaren IuK-Technologien für Unternehmen entstanden sind. In diesem Kapitel wird sowohl auf die veränderte Arbeitsorganisation (Netzwerkunternehmen, virtuelle Organisationen) als auch auf die neu entstandenen Arbeitsformen (Telearbeit, mobile Arbeit) eingegangen. Das dritte Kapitel befasst sich mit der mikrosoziologischen Ebene des Individuums. Darin wird erörtert, welche Möglichkeiten der räumlichen und zeitlichen Arbeitsgestaltung sowie der alternativen Erwerbsarbeit durch die Nutzung von Informations- und Kommunikationstechnologien für das wissens- und informationsarbeitende Individuum entstanden sind.

Die vorliegende Forschungsarbeit widmet sich der Identifizierung von Entwicklungspotenzialen f r MitarbeiterInnen, insbesondere in kleineren und mittleren Unternehmen. Es geht darum, arbeitsweltliche Handlungs- und Strukturmuster aufzusp ren, die den Menschen wieder st rker in den Blickpunkt des Interesses r cken. Die Autorin erforscht einerseits theoriegeleitet die Implikationen f hrungsrelevanter Aspekte und analysiert andererseits empirisch den Einfluss ausgesuchter struktureller und kontextbezogener Komponenten auf die Entwicklung von Mitarbeiterpotenzialen. Im Zentrum der Betrachtungen stehen dabei die wahrgenommene allgemeine Arbeitszufriedenheit und -motivation, der empfundene Optimismus im Hinblick auf die Zukunft, die Wachstumszufriedenheit sowie die empfundene Arbeitsauslastung durch die MitarbeiterInnen am Arbeitsplatz. Im Zuge des Erkenntnisprozesses hat sich gezeigt, dass der in der Literatur und Praxis postulierte Einfluss des F hrungsverhaltens auf mitarbeiterorientierte Entwicklungspotenziale bersch tzt wird. Nach den vorliegenden Ergebnissen zeigen die situativen und strukturellen Unternehmensbedingungen einen deutlich st rkeren Einfluss auf die Wahrnehmung des F hrungsverhaltens seitens der MitarbeiterInnen. Weiters sprechen die Befunde insgesamt daf r, dass die in der Literatur getroffenen Unterteilungen in intrapersonale, soziale und aufgabenbezogene Dimensionen des F hrungsverhaltens von den befragten MitarbeiterInnen in der Praxis nicht differenziert wahrgenommen werden und es sich somit um ein rein theoretisches Konzept handelt. Die F hrungskraft wird im untersuchten Fallbeispiel von den MitarbeiterInnen deutlich undifferenzierter wahrgenommen. Sie wird demnach in ihrer Pers nlichkeit ganzheitlich bzw. als holistische Einheit gesehen und beurteilt. Ein weiterer Forschungsschwerpunkt betrifft die Fragestellung, ob durch eine theoretische Reflexion der empirischen Ergebnisse eine Schnittmenge zwischen den aus der Forschungsarbeit resultierend

The disproportionate aging of the population of working age in many nations around the world is a unique occurrence in the history of humankind. In the light of demographic change, it is becoming increasingly important to develop and use the potential of older employees. This edited volume Age-differentiated Work Systems provides a final report on a six-year priority program funded by the German Research Foundation (DFG) and presents selected research findings of 17 interdisciplinary project teams. The idea is that it will serve both as a reference book and overview of the current state of research in ergonomics, occupational psychology and related disciplines. It provides new models, methods, and procedures for analyzing and designing age-differentiated work systems with the aim of supporting subject matter experts from different areas in their decisions on labor and employment policies. Therefore over 40 laboratory experiments involving 2,000 participants and 50 field studies involving over 25,000 employees were conducted. Time-geography is a mode of thinking that helps in the understanding of change in society, the wider context and ecological consequences of human actions.
