Die Jahre 2005 bis 2014 sind von den Mitgliedsstaaten der Vereinten Nationen als UN-Dekade ?Bildung fr nachhaltige Entwicklung? ausgerufen worden. Diese weltweite Bildungsinitiative hat das Ziel, den Gedanken der nachhaltigen Entwicklung in den Bildungssystemen der Mitgliedsstaaten weltweit zu verankern. Bildung fr nachhaltige Entwicklung beinhaltet die Idee vom nachhaltigen Denken und Handeln, also dass das heutige Handeln Einfluss auf das Leben zuknftiger Generationen weltweit hat. Diese Weichen fr eine weltweite nachhaltige Entwicklung wurden vor allem in der UN-Konferenz ber Umwelt und Entwicklung in Rio de Janeiro 1992 gestellt. Auf dieser Konferenz wurde auch die Bedrohung des Weltklimas durch die globale Erw„rmung thematisiert und versucht mit einer Klimaschutz-Konvention darauf zu reagieren. Als Hauptursache fr diesen Klimawandel wird der anthropogene Treibhauseffekt angesehen. Im Kyoto-Protokoll, welches 2005 in Kraft trat, sind rechtsverbindliche Begrenzungs- und Verringerungsverpflichtungen der Industriestaaten bzgl. des Treibhausgas-Ausstoáes vereinbart. Allerdings gelten diese Vereinbarungen nur bis 2012 und bisher wurden noch keine verbindlichen Ziele fr den Zeitraum danach festgelegt. Demzufolge sind der Klimawandel und der Klimaschutz ein immer wieder pr„sentes Thema in politischen Debatten und damit auch in den Berichten der Medien. So fand 2011 in Berlin das Klimaschutzfestival ?Rock frs Klima? statt, fr das in der ganzen Stadt geworben wurde. Fr Deutschland wurde der Atomausstieg bis 2022 beschlossen und heftig diskutiert. Meldungen ber das Solarflugzeug ?Solar Impulse?, welches ausschlieálich mit Sonnenenergie betrieben wird und im Mai 2011 zum ersten Mal international geflogen ist oder politische Diskussionen ber eine unterirdische Kohlendioxid-Speicherung, verdeutlichen die Pr„senz und die Aktualit„t des Themas. Diese Meldungen und Bilder nehmen auch Grundschler wahr und es besteht die Gefahr, dass sie aufgrund der wahrgenommenen Bedrohungen Zukunfts„ngste entwickeln. Insbesondere der Sachunterricht hat die Aufgabe, Themen aus der Lebenswelt der Schler aufzugreifen und ihnen zu helfen, ihr erworbenes Wissen zu ordnen und gegebenenfalls zu relativieren. Aus diesen wichtigen Grnden sollte der Treibhauseffekt m. E. Teil des Sachunterrichts sein. Inwiefern dieses Thema in Curricula des Sachunterrichts bereits vorgesehen ist bzw. sich einfgen l„sst, im konkreten Unterricht bereits eine Rolle spielt und bei Kindern pr„sent ist bzw. auf deren Interessen st”át, wird in der vorliegenden Studie n„her untersucht. Im Fokus steht dabei die Frage nach den M”glichkeiten der Thematisierung und deren Grenzen.

Nothing affects the modern economy (and society) more than decisions made in the market place, especially, but not only, decisions made by consumers. Although it is not startling to suggest that decisions made in production are affected by choices consumers make, consumers have long been viewed, not only by academic economists, as individual, isolated rational actors that make or refrain from purchases purely on the basis of narrow financial considerations. Markets are not and never were morally neutral. Market relations have always had an often taken-for-granted moral underpinning. The moralization of the markets refers to the dissolution and replacement of the conventional moral underpinnings of market conduct, for example, in the music market, financial markets, and corporate governance. It further implies not only the heightened importance of new ethical precepts, but the significant change in the role of moral ideals in market behavior. These profound transformations of economic conduct are accompanied and co-determined by societal conflicts. The moralization of markets represents thus a new stage in the social evolution of markets. The book is divided into four parts, in which the twelve chapters, written by contributors from different social science disciplines, deal with the context of the moralization of the markets; the major social institutions; and present case studies that examine European and American attitudes and behavior towards tobacco and GMO; expansion of the private and ethics in business; and how workers respond to the new corporate norms.
